Well i was wondering if anyone out there (hopefully someone here) that has play chrono cross had issues with the first disc, i have bought 3 copies of the same game and always when i come accross the same scene ( when you get to the sky palace place and u have that flash back again) the disc just freezes, either i`m out of luck or squaresoft released a batch of bad disc ._.

also my second question is does gameshark screw games up? not that i used it on chrono cross but i did on this other game called legend of dragoon and now whenever i play the second disc the graphics are all screwed up and it wont let me exit out of the village. >.< ^^ thanks in advanced for any responce

I've heard of Gamesharks permanently corrupting games, but I've never actually seen it. So I guess it's possible. But I own a Game Genie or Gameshark for a ton of systems (NES, SNES, Genesis, GB, GBC, GG, N64, PS1, Saturn, Dreamcast), and I've never run into the problem.

I can help you out with the game shark question.

Game sharks themselves don't break games. But they do hack into games in ways that wasn't originally intended. The data they are trying to access can cause problems in other, seemingly unrelated games. So if you don't use the gameshark for that part of the game, it should work OK.

The first is probably due to your machine. I had the same with Vagrant Story acting up twice when my machine was dying.

Interestingly, there was a bad batch of these things being sold through amazon.com. It was the greatest hits version of the game sold at some point in 07 that was the culprit, assome gamers complained of a freezing issue . It seems unlikely that you got multiple versions printed in such a specific timeframe.......so yeah, probably a hardware issue.

It really could just be bad luck... at some point I had had my PS2 for about 5 years when all of a sudden it seemed every memory card didn't work anymore. Even brand new ones that I bought... I didn't know what was going on... those days are in the past now though.

The only problem I had with Chrono Cross was the music would play a bit faster during battles and the characters would move faster with it.

no but the codes can cause the gameshark it self to mess up

why i dont use them no more ,

ii put codes for goldeneye one time and it messed the whole gameshark up

so ya

it has somthing more to do with the discs themselfs , if they were scratched they would freeze no matter if the resurfacing is done , there is some scratches that could be deep in the game ,
