I'm a bit confused about the gamespot genres.

I'm looking for "speed" games with lots of action, climbing, and running. But, for example, games like WET that fit those criteria are placed in the "other shooter" section, but I thought I only had to look at the action and action-adventure section. So should I look at all those other genres as well? Or should I go to ign and look at the action section? Because would ign include those games that fit the criteria.

The action/action adventure should be what you look for. Suggest getting assassin creeds 2 andinfamous seems like a good fit for yu though

yeah, I already looked at the action/adventure genres in both gamespot and ign and I picked up some games like just cause 2, spiderman, infamous. But it just seems that WET actually fits my criteria pretty well with all the climbing, running, right? And doesn't it seem that it fits more as an action game than "other shooter" genre? Do you think it fits my criteria well? I mean, the protagonist seems pretty agile and nimble, relying on speed over stealth or power?

And what I'm trying to ask is since this game, WET, fits my criteria pretty well and since it's in the "other shooter" section, would there be any other games similar to WET that fits my criteria that's also NOT in the action/ action adventure genre?

I mean there are also other modern shooter games like stranglehold that looks like they fit too. But how come those games are put in the "other shooter" section while uncharted 2 is put in the action adventure genre?

I would say Bayonetta and Devil May Cry 4 fit your criteria perfectly. Great games; two other great action/adventure games, but are less about being an extremely fast/stealthy protagonist are God of War III (ultra brute but slick controls and truly 'visceral' combat), and Uncharted 2 (a brilliant game in every sense of the word).

They're mostly generic. Look at first person shooters for example. The game could be 5% shooting and the rest puzzles or exploration but they still sum it up into a first person shooter because it'sfirst person and you can use a firearm.

I'm not really asking for games. I can do that easily myself. I'm just a bit confused about the organization of game and the genres. I mean, I'm also confused because dissidia seems to fit my criteria for speed, but are there any games similar to it.

As for rpg's, I hate rpg's, but alpha protocol seems like a "splinter cell" kind of games that might also fit what I'm looking for.

So how exactly should I look for what I want?
