Question about Mario Kart 64

My mate gave me his copy of Mario Kart 64 the other day (he owed me money). I played it and commented on the fact the the that he start up screen was different and it also had and another power division after 150cc called "extra" he said this was because it was a limited edition or something like that. When i was playing it at home the next day I deleted the save data and the different start up screen was back to the regular one and the "extra" power division was gone.

Is this because it WAS a limited edition, had someone used a cheat code or had someone beaten the entire game to unlock these extra features??

Extra mode (mirrored tracks) along with the new title screen is unlocked when you get gold on everything.

haha, no, that is not because of a "limited edition" copy it was simply due to completing and getting gold cups in all the leagues and cc's although id be upset at you for deleting that save liek that, it was a lot of hard work getting all those gold cupskidcool189

No way, that was way easy. just need gold in 150cc and its only 4 cups

i was sure it was only the 150cc??? Anyways its not that hard to do

I got pretty good at that, and jumping over the wall on wario stadium. I managed to get a 22 second lap time on wario stadium by jumping over 2 walls.
