Question about Natal. How the heck do you walk around with your character?

I saw another guy post this on another board and I suddenly realized he raised a good point. Say you have 6 feet of space in your living room. How are you going to be able to walk across a 50, 000 foot level in a game?

Get a treadmill.

Other than that, i'm not sure. I'm sure something will be worked out by the time it launches.

**EDIT** Oh, i just thought of another way. Walk across your tv. Then, crouch down so the camera can't see you and crawl to the other side of the TV. Then, walk across it again. Keep doing this until you get where you want to go.

Hand signals, if necessary, I suppose. Or perhaps you will lean. And what stops a person from using Natal and a traditional 360 controller in the same game?

What if I want to turn and run to the left or the right? will I have turn my body to the left or right and run on the spot? What if I need to shoot at enemy while I'm doing this? lol Sorry I'm just picturing myself running backwards on the spot in my living room and trying to shoot an ememy with my invisible gun at the same time

Yeah I doubt MS even cares to use it for hardcore style games. I mean its not like they need to entice hardcore gamers to buy their console, they already have the hardcore gamers. This will probably only be used as a ploy to attract the casuals.

Perhaps you could just walk in one spot? and the Natal would pick it up as a walking motion?

I doubt that the type of games made for it would require any more leg work than eye toy.

How about running? Left? Right? Backwards? All these we do without thinking twice on our daul analogs seem alot more difficult to replicate with this sort of control. I think the problem is that games are supposed to be games. My clumsy ass is never going to be an actual ninja, thats why I use a controller and press a few buttons instead of take nijitsu lessons.

You don't. Didn't you see how broken that guy's legs looked? You'd have to break yours too, just to play. :)

I don't think we need to read too much into this, I doubt that Microsoft will use Natal for games like Gears of War or Halo, rather it'll be used for wii sport like games, I hope

Exactly. I do not want waggle in my AAA titles. Imagine if sony uses waggle for uncharted 3? It would just ruin the game. -but if they did want to use something you could use voice commands
