Can any of you guys that don't play drums in real life play them on Rock Band on anything higher than medium? I play real drums, so I can do a lot of songs on expert, but I've always wondered if anyone is good at them that doesn't actually play?

I never played drums in my LIFE. Then I bought RB and played them for awhile. Now I do every song on Expert...I can't get like 100% on all of em but at least 90% +. I do want to take up real drums after playing RB. So yea, i don't play real drums but play Expert RB drums =D

I've never picked up a set of sticks in my life before playing Rock Band. The hardest part for me was separating what my mind associated the pedal noise to be, and the one that's actually in the game. My foot kept wanting to assign different beats to the pedal notes.

After that, it became pretty intuitive. I'm 90% through Expert now, but I've got to beat Dead On Arrival, which on Expert is a huge jump up from the Expert songs prior to that. The song is so fun though that I don't mind much. The other song that is an absolute ***** is Next To You by The Police. I've always thought Stewart Copeland was an amazing drummer, but now I'm SURE he is. Dude is just a freak.

I have never played real drums and rockband is hard for me I cant even play it on hard but then again i dont spend tons of time playing it so that may be a contributing factor to me sucking at the drums.

I never played drums before but I've managed to beat the Hard difficulty level (including RTTH!) and am now working my way through Expert.

I'm definitely improving, though I still stink at rolling those 16th notes.

I will only say one thing, I sucked on Rock Band with drums, and I think I would be alot better at the really drums then the fake ones. Im play guitar in real life and I rock the guitar so I really dont know.

I dont know how you can play them on expert LOL! I took drum lessons for 7 years and I own a pearl drumset. but, the drums for rockband feel terrible. it would have been easier if there was actuall a hi hat and a cymbol. i only played rockband twice and the drums didn't even feel like real drums. thats why im interested in guitar hero 4 because they actually have a hi hat thats higher than the snare. the hi hat and snare in rock band is even so its annoying to cross your arms to play. rock band drums are not even close to real life drums. I play blues, metal, jazz and country on my drums with my cousin who plays guitar and i could do that fine. but when it comes to rockband i cant do crap LOL not even on medium. i only did one song on medium and i barely won it.

Jazuzu, you could always invest in the ION drumset. Go google it if you have no clue what I'm talking about. . .

I had barely tried my hand at drumsets. Yes, I've been in percussion in band, but not in Jazz Band. After playing Rock Band for a while, I've gotten good enough (the bass pedals always threw me off) to play an actual drumset. I guess it was just my odd mindset, or something.

Here's the drumset's home page: https://www.drumrocker.com/products/index.php
