Seeing as there is no PS2 forum anymore I thought I'd come here for these questions. I want to get a slim, but I'm just curious, do you need a vertical stand for this version or do you have to buy it seperately like you did for the original PS2? And also, could someone tell me exactly how tall the console stands? The entertainment stand I have right now can accomodate pretty much exactly 10 inches. Is the slim PS2 shorter than this standing vertically? Thanks.
you would need to buy the stand seperately, however its not required. not too sure about the measurements, but keep in mind that the top opens up (like the PS1), it doesnt pull out like a tray like the old one.

Why does it have to stand vertically? Just out of curiousity..
The PS2 is only slightly bigger than a box for one of the games. I'm sure you can find room for it.
If you absolutely need to stand it up, you can get slimmy vert stands on ebay for next to nothing.

I need it standing vertically cause there isn't much room left on my stand lol. There are 3 consoles huddled together right now and I don't think I could fit the PS2 in there flat. Anyway, all I wanted to know is if there was a seperate stand for the slim, which you answered, so thanks a lot.
My buddy got a cheap ver stand off of ebay, and has his PS2 standing in the space between the cabinet and his TV in his entertainment unit. He has two wireless controllers, making the whole deal pretty stealthy! You'd never even know he had a PS2 until he turned it on.
