I love the R&C series. I wouldnt call it one of the "best" series though. I like the combat, I like being able to upgrade your weaponry, I like the humor in them. They are pretty freaking awesome for action/platformers. I had to complete Size Matters 3-4 times before i could force myself to stop lol. If you ever have the opportunity to add these games to your library you should make every effort to do so.

My favorite R&C tv commercial is where these guys are like out in the woods at night playing around with the Shrink ray or something and they zap one of the guys and shrink him down and he is like "This is sweet!" or something like that and then an own swoops down and grabs the guy and then flys off and his buddies are all standing there like wtf just happened ?

a good thing to know about the series is that the platforming is kind of there as a distraction. and if you start playing the series i reccomend playing them in order irregardless of the fact that the games stories dont connect that much. ratchet and clank future is the latest one and also happens to be the one i would reccomend to somone new to action games. i would say that ratchet deadlocked, is one that isnt really worth playing. not enough plot.

With the exception of Ratchet: Gladiator which was an abomination and a disgrace to the series, R+C is an absolutely fantastic series and is one of the best reasons to own a PS2 IMO.

The ratchet and clank series is one of the best series on the ps2. The gameplay is great and alot of fun. The stories in the games are also very good and have alot of humor in them. I haven't played deadlocked though but the first 3 ratchet and clank games are must owns.

Awesome series that's for sure, just play the first three, the original R&C, Going Commando, and Up Your Arsenal. All of them are awesome from beginning to end.

Played "Size Matters" yet?

I voted one of the best series ever, because I just adore these games. Mainly because the tip of Ratchet's tail looks so cute when he's running..

Yeah, they're great. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando is the best one. A lot of people say Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is better, but if that's true, it's only because of the multiplayer. The single player mode in Up Your Arsenal is considerably worse than the other games in the series. Not that it's bad, but it's not nearly as great.

Going Commando was the least favorite of mine so far, I think I even liked Deadlocked/Gladiator more. The enemies just seemed dull and sort of off and the end boss battle was like "that's it..? O.o" Plus I like how you can upgrade your weapons a lot more in Up Your Arsenal.

R&C is definatly one of the best platformer/action titles out there. I'm hoping to pick up Up Your Arsenal, Deadlocked(I don't care if it's not a favorite of fans, I want it) and Size Matters(Same as Deadlocked).

Hmm... actually I think I prefer number 3 to number 2... my fave R+C games in order are as follows.

1. R+C: Tools of Destruction

2. R+C 3

3. R+C

4. R+C 2

5. R+C: Size Matters

6. Ratchet: Gladiator/ Deadlocked

Well, okay. I'll give you the boss fight. Going Commando's final boss was a joke, while Up Your Arsenal's was the best one I've played in the series (I've only played the first 3 games). But I really just felt Up Your Arsenal was kind of uninspired.

Ah, I have it on PS2 so I suppose that makes the gaming experience slightly different. Still disagree with you though. I feel like it's too difficult for kids and too boring for adults.

"Uninspired"?! There was lots of everything! You got to know a great deal of the characters a bit more and the plot was awesome! My favorite boss fight was Chairman Drek though. I sat with that bastard for hours. =D

Buy them all. If it has to be only one make it Up Your Arsenal, it may be the PS2's best game.

Your from Europe aren't you? I have no problem with Europe, but it is only called Ratchet: Gladiator in Europe. Just like how Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal is Ratchet and Clank 3.
