Ranger, Thief, Fighter, Wizard

What's your favorite playstyle? And why? The game is generic, it can apply to anything you play.

I tend to like intelligent rouges. Pickpocketing and using social skills to get by, easing stealthily past trouble and backstabbing to get the upper-hand when I need to fight. 

Wizards are usually a lot of fun to play too. I like that Wizards tend to get more choice than fighters in games. 

I normally go with any character that suits my personality, I don't limit myself to any one particular archetype as each have their own advantages and disadvantages. But if I had to choose, I would say the archetype wizard or sorceress closely resembles my own character.

When I played FFXI and Everquest (or usually anything like Wizardry/Ultima, etc) I'd go for mages, particularly support/healing.

I was a Cleric/Druid/Paladin in Everquest, a high level White Mage and Red Mage in Final Fantasy XI for instance (and a good one too).

I mean, it's nice to be a fighter with a greatsword or something from time to time, but nothing feels better than casting a healing spell to save the party and take the brunt of the fight while everyone beats the monster down. You really feel like you save the day, nothing better than a good healer to act like the glue for a party.
