1. GTA III - because of it's sandbox innovation revolutionizing the franchise and gaming in general.
2. GTAÂ Â Â -Â For making the GTA franchise possible and one of the greatest games at the time.
3. GTA SA - Taking GTA III to the next level offering a huge exciting world and a lot of new content and characters.
4. GTA IV BOGT - The most fun experience I've had with GTA characterwise, ARAB MONEY!!!!
5. GTA IV - Offering moral choices and story impact, packed with improvements (fifth because of missing features that should have been there from previous titles)
6. GTA VC - First to bring a voiced protagonist with identity and goals.
7. GTA IV LAD - Really cool addition to IV
8. GTA IIÂ Â - Basically GTA with better graphics
9. GTA LCS
10. GTA VCS
11. GTA London
They are all great games which I hold close to my gaming-heart, but this is the way I would rank the those I've had the pleasure to play.
Of the GTA games I've played:
I expect GTA V to top this list.
1. GTA SA- 2nd GTA game I ever played. I was 5 back then. Jaw dropping improvement over GTA VC. Had the best cheats of any GTA game. I still play SAMP.
2. GTA TBOGT- I loved GTA IV (Played through it 5 times) and I loved GTA IV: TBOGT even more! It was very close between this and SA for my list.
3. GTA VC- First GTA game I played. I played it when I was 4. Just before playing this game I cosidered Mario to be the best game ever made. So you know how amazed I was.
4. GTA IV- Every single mission of my first playthrough was jaw dropping. Was dissapointed over the lack of features from GTA SA, but the new features and the story made up for it.
5. GTA TLAD- Never really liked this game because I played TBOGT before it. Story could be compared to the story of Just Cause 2.
6. GTA VCS- Never owned this game. But from what I played at friends' houses, never wanted to own it anyway. Sucked monkey balls.
7. GTA LCS- Owned it on my PSP. Just played it to pass time while in the car. Or at grandma's house. Sucked harder than VCS.
8. GTA III- Never liked this game. I don't know why, just didn't like it.
9.(Tie) GTA and GTA II- Not bad games, just not my type.
I expect GTA V to top this list.
1. Vice City. Nicely references GTA3 with various characters, includes motorbikes and generally nails the 80s feel. Plus: Miniguns.
2. GTAIII. Dialled the entire series up a notch and was often very funny.
3. GTA. Unashamedly bloody, very simple, good fun. GTA London was decent, but adjusting to driving on the left was vaguely irritating (A perfect powerslide into oncoming traffic doesn't turn out so perfect).
4. GTAIV. Kept it simple, but it felt very straight-faced a lot of the time. The DLC were a mess on the PC, so I never really played much of either.
5. San Andreas. SA always felt like it was trying too hard to me - as though they were stung by all the criticism the media gives every entry so they decided to add some psuedo-RPG elements to make it feel more "realistic" which just distracted from the game. But on the plus side, articulated lorries!
6. GTAII. I never liked the way they took the style away from being vaguely realistic.
