Red Dead Redemption To... Pirates?

I have an idea I think it would be awesome to discuss. How about and open world game about pirates? Like GTA or RDR? Exploring land and buying boats! What do you think?

I'd rather have one that takes place in the future, settings similar to Mass Effect.

As long as rock star didnt do it i would buy it...their open world games are far too shallow

There's actually a Pirates of the Caribbean MMO. It sucked though. Also, I don't think this is going to happen. A world with an open sea and some land would have to be far to big to fit in a game to make it good. The game would suck if the sea and land put together was a world at the size of RDR's world. GTA SA's size, maybe. But not any less.

An open world game revolving around pirates will just be you in a ship, sailing for about 2 hours, hitting land, and running around doing tasks. Or, just go play Voyage Century.
