Yeah I really enjoyed the first game, it plays a lot like half life. Never played the second one, though. I wouldn't mind seeing parker come back if a 3rd game came out.

Yeah, I'm excited. I was let down by Red Faction 2, but really loved the original. However, that game has not aged well. I tried to replay it a few months back, and the gameplay really wasn't anything like I remembered.

Red Faction 1 borrowed a heck of a lot from Half-Life, but the geomod system was a really cool twist (though it was odd that it was so much more common early in the game than in the middle and later portions).

Since none of Volition's post-Red Faction 1 games (Summoner 1 and 2, Saint's Row, Red Faction 2) were impressive, I need more details about RF3 before I can get excited about it. If the geomod system is used well and extensively throughout...

I really hope Volition succeed this time. Freespace is still my favourite sim and there's no lack of talent. They just need to work a bit more on their designs.

What I loved about Red Faction is that it through this concept of 'originality' out of the window and simply borrowed heavily from great games of it's time (Half Life, Perfect Dark, etc.) People are infatuated with game being original that they disregard that a alot of them end up being executed poorly, Red Faction takes ideas and enchances them. Hopefully it continues the story from the original Red Faction, or a similar one.

I don't know why they took the goodness of RF1 and replaced almost everything about it with the crapastic RF2.... I hope they make a third one but they should stick to Half-life, RF 1's formula

Saint's Row wasn't impressive? You're kidding, right? Sure, it copied just about everything from San Andreas, but built on several of those things and was overall a solid game.
