Anyone remember this game?

Yeah, but mostly how it got trashed around for how ungodly awful it was.
Another of those old Acclaim gems.
I seldom sell any games no matter how poorly they play. This, however, was one I was more than happy to part with shortly after purchase. Rise of the Robots is better left forgotten.

Acclaim have some of the most mixed record of any game company, its quite odd, some of their games were really great, but they also made a whole pile of crappy games.
I knew I recognized that title. So yeah, I remember this.
I loved how smooth the graphics looked, they really stood out.
But I also remember getting bored of the game pretty quickly.
There was a similar game... I forgot the name, but it was something like "Battlebots" or "Battlecage" or something.
You had very same-ish robots, but you could upgrade them and all and have amazing battles.
Edit:
Found it, it was 'One Must Fall'. I see it even got another game in 2003.
I know it was hyped as the next best thing but turned out to be a bellow average Mortal Kombat rip-off with robots instead of humans. The graphics and sound were good tho, especially in the DOS version which supported SVGA (480p) and Sound Blaster. But the gameplay was completely broken. Here is a vid:

EDIT: by the way, Rise 2 was a decent fighter

Even tho I agree it had pretty broken fighting system as well.

frankly I found Primal Rage to be a steaming pile, the only reason I can think of why anybody liked it at the time was the blood and the "hey look Im playing as a Dinosaur" novelty, but then , if you want blood, go watch a horror movie, or Jurassic park if you want to see dinosaurs. otherwise the game pretty broken , not a horrid game, but not even a mediocre one either. Please Log In to post.
