Hi there everyone,

This christmas i'm getting a PAL nes after asking for years now. Ive been looking around on the internet at the accessories and ive grown an interest in getting a R.O.B robot.

My question is: Being as a PAL rob is pretty hard to come by, would a famicom or NTSC rob work with my PAL console? it seems as though there are alot of listings of american and japanese robs and they seem to be reasonably priced. Im hoping it should since the controllers that go into the ROB are the same size and it runs off batterys but i really need this confirmed.

Thanks and merry christmas and happy new year :D

I know this, i just want it because i think its pretty neat and collectable. Ive seen Irategamer's R.O.B videos and AVGN's accessories video aswell as many other R.O.B videos on youtube. I know its slow and pretty much useless which is why i dont want to pay alot of money.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say yes. ROB operates by reacting to brief flashes on the TV screen that you produce in-game with the NES controller. These cause him to move accordingly, and basically just push down buttons on a second NES controller. I can't say for sure, but I don't see any reason why a NTSC ROB wouldn't work for you.

I know what your saying about wanting something just for the collectability *looks at DKII Game and watch* So if you really want it I'd go with the NTSC model. I think famicom controllers are slightly different than nes controllers. If it doesn't work then just go collect a NTSC NES... unless you wanna give it to me XD

The answer is yes. Any rob (robotic operating buddy) or any family computer robot will work with any regions system or game designed for it (stack up/robot block and gyromite) as long as you have a tv that's compatible with it. Its like the zapper for NES It will not work on an lcd tv but will work with any regions game designed for it or console.
