That sounds like Sony trying to spin GTA4 going multiplat, but who knows. In any case, this will be interesting to see how this pans out, and what the game will be. Whatever it is, it is new, so that excludes LA Noir.
Rockstar was never big on exclusives, so I think this'll be a timed exclusive. Anyway, it's pretty sad that this is "news". Hey, how about letting us know something about the game? Nah, I must be crazy, the fact that it's an exclusive is all that really matters. But I guess if there's anything that'll force me into buying a PS3, it's a Rockstar game.
I'm willing to bet Sony didn't obtain exclusivity for GTA4 because Rockstar was asking for more than Sony was willing to pay. Even MS's 50 million secured only exclusive content, not a window of exclusivity (and a Christmas window would have been a big deal) and due to strong sales and a high attach rate, MS is in a better negotiating position than Sony.Since an original game is unproven, I am sure exclusivity rights are substantially cheaper even if the publisher is the highly respected Rockstar. All that being said, its hard to get excited about the game without knowing anything about it, but Rockstar has a great track record, so I'm optimistic.
BTW: The official blog specifically excluded LA Noir.
Jack Tretton saying that they let Take 2 out of the GTA exclusivity deal was a complete lie, IMO. Howard Stringer himself admitted that Ken Kutaragi dropped the ball on continuing the exclusivity deal with Take 2 and that was one of the many reasons why Stringer was not thrilled with Kutaragi's continuing employment with Sony.
Between Jack Tretton and Howard Stringer, I'd say what the CEO says has more truth than the head of SCEA.

Why dont we just chill out... they posted this on the blog because in an interview Tretton said something about a new IP, instead of letting the internets go a flame with speculation why not just come out and confirm it? And they dont say what the game is becasue TT and rockstar specifically asked them not to, as stated on the blog.

I don't think there was any way of Grand Theft Auto IV being exclusive to any system. There's no way Sony and even Microsoft could've offered as much money as Rockstar is going to get with Grand Theft Auto IV being a multiplatform release. Going multiplatform simply made perfect sense for Rockstar. Of course, Sony didn't "let go" of the exclusivity because the decision was never up to them anyway.
