Do you think the swords, blades and knifes in RPG´s need to be in almost every game?

Or new weapons should have more protagonism?

I like melee weapons, but I think there are mor things to explore than to fight robots, sorcerers, monsters, machine gun soldiers with a sword.

Well they don't need to be there, but they are often better than the alternative.

I don't like the focus on swords though.

I know Fallout 2 could be beaten without ever using a weapon. Maybe Fallout 1. Don't remember. But if you mean an RPG without ever implementing any weapons.... Probably some Japanese dating sim/RPG hybrid might.

 the solution to reducing violence: sex. Those flash games were dirty.
