Yep, just picked up a few not too long ago: FF Anthology, VIII, & IX; as well as Parasite Eve in a single purchase.

I've had others for years. Brave Fencer Musashi is a fantastic game that's best described as Legend of Zelda meets Final Fantasy with a sense of humor. King's Field 1 & 2 (2 & 3 in Japan) are 2 of my favorite RPGs of all-time, made by From Software who's better know these days for Demon's Soul and Dark Souls. Legend of Legaia is a very fun JRPG with a unique battle-system involving different button combinations = different special attacks.

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy Chronicles, specifically Chrono Trigger.

I personally think the PS1 is the best system out there in terms of RPGs, even better than the SNES imo. I have about a third of all the PS1 RPGs that were released in North America, I hope to complete that collection some day.

funny you should ask (given your avi)... I beat Grandia (again) earlier this year. The psp has allowed me to replay several games I enjoyed from back in the ps1 days. I got far more use out of that feature than I did with the games that were actually released for it

I really need a copy of Alundra. I bought about a month ago, and when it got to me the disc was cracked. :(

Yep, I do every now and then. Right now on my plate I have Chrono Cross(played it near release and wasn't into it, bought it on PSN recently to give it another shot), Front Mission 3(like the game and played it quite a bit years back but never finished it), and Thousand Arms to play. I've played most of the good/decent RPGS on the PS1. My top three PS1 RPGS are: 1. Lunar 2 Eternal Blue 2. Suikoden II 3. Final Fantasy IX Some more of my favorites are Arc the Lad series, Breath of Fire III/IV, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Grandia. There are a lot more that I like but I'll keep the list fairly short.

That blows. If you have a hard time finding an affordable copy, it is $6 on PSN(I know you were talking about getting a PSP a while back, don't remember if you did or not).

Final Fantasy 8, Breath of Fire IV, Dragon Quest 8, and Parasite EVE one are the only real good Rpgs on the system, the Western Rpg ports are terrible. For decent games that won't take too much time, there is Threads of Fate and Azure Dream

I disagree, there were many very good rpg's on the ps1 (that I would rate above 75%):

Alundra 1 and 2

Suikoden 1 and 2

Breath of Fire 3

Final Fantasy VI, VII, IX and tactics were also very good (I really liked VIII btw)

Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 were great SRPGs

Tales of Destiny 1 and 2

Brave Fencer

Star Ocean 2

Front Mission 3

Grandia was excellent

Chrono Cross and Trigger, how can you forget these, shame on you!

Azure Dreams was good but you're wrong on the taking little time. Getting to the top level is hard and takes from 20-40hours to get there.

Wild Arms 1 was also really great back then. Didn't play the second one.

Vagrant Story, not my cup of tea but got to admit it's a great game.

Arc the Lad series and Lunar series, haven't played those but I know they're great games.

Tail Concerto was also great.

Saga Frontier games were also great.

Kartia was good (not so much to me, but people like it)

The only games I think were not that great were Granstream Saga (I like it, but most people don't, had  flawed battle controls), Eternal Eyes (stay away!), Dragon Quest VII (I don't like it, and it took forever to make, turning for me, into a disappointing game), Brigandine was also cack, Technomage too. I don't really like King's Fields games, but then again, the games are designed that way, I just think it's too slow (incluiding Shadow Tower).
