According to the Rumor Mole in this months OXM which I just recieved yesterday in the mail. The mole has learned from a bankable source that Konami will bring MGS4 to the 360 which will ship a few months after the PS3 version. Sony is losing another exclusive?Thornscar
Not really surprising with all thats going on.
The rumor mole is highly accurate, and with this bankable source I would say this is becomming factual.ThornscarDoesn't change the fact that it's still a rumor, and they can say whatever they want about 'bankable' sources, but until we get an official press release from Konami confirming such things, as it stands currently, the game is a PS3 exclusive.
I've been an OXM subscriber for over 5 years and I can tell you that their rumor mole is very accurate in most cases. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.D3s7rUc71oNAgain, past successes is never an indicator of future failures, especially in something as suspicious as this.
It's still a rumor, and will be treated as such until proven true.

Microsoft's coporate VP Peter Moore confirmed that Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will not be coming to Xbox 360, the game remains as a PS3 exclusive title.
Lol Did Peter spilled the beans now that he left MS? I don't know how revelant his comments are, but it looks PS3 exclusive after this comment.
@ primeevil: Filling a Blu-ray disc isnt hard. It just to put things on there that arent compresed. And although it looks awesome, it dosse not look good enough to justfy 50 gig's. AI can take allot of room, but thats alittle to much.
Sony said that they where proud to have this as an exclusive. But thay also call UT3 an exclusive, and that is headed for 360 in 08.
I have to admit that I would like MGS4 on the 360. And I think its a posebility. But if it comes, its gonna ba long after the PS3 version goes gold.
Isn't MGS4 on a Dual Layer 50gb Blu-Ray isn't it? Man, that'd be a blast trying to port that over.Primevil702
Multiple discs! Oh my God, THE HORROR!
PS3 games may be problematic to port to 360 (and vice versa), but that really has little to do with storage capacity but rather with the two consoles' architectural differences.

Actually its not....if anything its accurate about 50% of the time, which is about as much as most rumor columns who also claim to be "accurate", which isn't all that impressive...and all these rumor columns and blogs claim to have a "bankable source" or "credible source", which is hardly the case a lot of the time.
Remember the "World of Warcraft to 360" a couple of years ago from this so called "accurate" rumor mole that supposedly has a "credible" source......yeah......
How about the Crysis going to 360 rumor from last year.....the one Crytek said was flat out wrong.
Or how about the one about how KOTOR 3 was supposed to be announced at E3 this month.......gee....still waiting...
...then when that didn't pan out it turned into the "Bioware working on next-gen KOTOR MMO for 360" rumor.....another false rumor which Bioware themselves already debunked.
Did ya hear the one about Ninja Gaiden 2 supposedly being announced for 360 last year.....hmmmmmmmm...funny, no announcement.
How about the one about how Gears of War 2 would be shown at this months E3 and would be launching exclusively on 360 in 2008.....the one Epic debunked. Though I guess that one was partially right....Epic did show off some new Gears of War exclusive single player content at this E3....for PC.
From the looks of it....that "accurate" rumor mole ain't so accurate after all....
Besides...the MGS4 to 360 rumor is nothing new....some "accurate" rumor mole....this rumor has been all over the web for months now. Not to mention what Konami has said its practically expected.
I love how people talk more about this than the actual game itself!
But anyway, how can I post in a thread like this without saying what I've been saying for a while! MGS has NOT ever been a Sony Exclusive. In fact, the only MGS game not to appear on another console is 3, which was the least popular entry. To act like it has no chance of coming to another platform is misguided. However, it will most likely be a rerelease with extra content.
Also, it doesn't matter what Kojimma says. What matters is what the board of directors or CEO of Konami says. Once the corporate part of the company says it is PS3 exclusive and will never be on another platform, then all the PS3 owners' purchases will be validated!
Actually taking info from rumor sections of magazines is not so bad. The section in EGM has often been pretty acurate with their rumors.rzepak
No, just no. That bit about Dead Rising 2 being a PS3 exclusive was some MS hater's fantasy. With garbage like that, its little wonder why hardly anyone cares what that crew thinks anymore.
Maybe future metal gear games will be on 360 but metal gear solid will stay exlusive because that's where the soldi seriers started. And incase they decided to make a substance version of it.gamingqueenyeah just like final fantasy should stay on ninten...oh wait...

With Kojima saying its an exclusive, and with Moore confirming it ain't coming to the 360, I'd like to know when this rumor will die. It might get ported in a years time like MGS2:Substance, but everyone would have played it and experienced its awesomeness by then.

i don't necessarily agree with that. I understand what you're saying w/ substance and twin snakes but i look at it this way. Twin Snakes is a remake of a 7 year old game with updated graphics and features, as well as a completely different title, than Metal Gear Solid for PS1. Also MGS2 substance is just an add on game, so by definition can'treally be looked at as the same astheoriginal. So technically yes there are Metal Gear games on other systems, but not originals. I'll try to explain better by using San ANdreas as an example. Despite it coming out on xbox a year after the ps2 version, it was still the same game with same title, same everything. The metal gear games that came out for other systems were like hip hop songs in the 90's. You have the originals (playstation versions) and remixes (versions on other consoles). Like i said, they may be on other systems but they aren't exactly the same therefore not TRUE originals, more like replicas. hope that made sense. sounded easier to say in my head
Peter Moore himself said that MGS4 is not coming to the 360.Dencore
That's not what I'd call a convincing source.

See, that's the problem. Unless the PS3 picks up steam, then there won't be that many people that even have a choice of experiancing the awesomeness. MGS2 might have been a system-seller way back, but I don't think too many people who don't frequent video game message boards will rush out and buy a PS3 for this game. You have the right conclusion, but you just used the argument for why it MIGHT get ported to the 360.
