The reason why Ryu and Ken won't be in this new SF movie?

Answer: the producers are saying um...that *LOL*, hear this out...that Ryu and Ken will be held for potential sequels in case in becomes a lucrative film franchise! *LOL*LOL*LOL* like this movie will spawn sequels and become a franchise! *LOL*

And get this. They're comparing it to X-Men! *Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!*

Sorry, can't stop LOL-ing! They're comparing Street Fighter movie to the X-Men films. HAR, HAR, HAR, HAR!!!

They say they're going for realism and to be authentic to the franchise? Isn't it a little hard to do that with a ethnically mixed Chun-Li?

Yeah, thats pretty dumb. The X Men comparison is def weak, Street Fighter without Ryu and Ken would be more like X Men without Wolverine.

If the Street Fighter movie is mildly entertaining, that would make it vastly better than X-men 3, though it doesn't have a snowball's chance in heck in matching the quality of X2 or even the original.

I've got an idea. How bout we just stop making movies based on videogames. And while we're at it, how bout Hollywood stops licensing books, comics, games, theme park rides, ancient scrolls, cave paintings, bathroom drawings, etc and starts actually developing some IPs of its own? Just a little originality, that's all i'm asking.

Well, isn't it X-Men 3 that killed the franchise?

So if this Street Fighter movie is similar or even slightly worse than X3, then......

Yes, they could have the director of Double Dragon handle it (I've seen an Uwe Boll movie, and DD was far worse). The scene where Marian tortures an obese Abbobo by forcefeeding him spinach soup (which causes him to break wind) was the most hilariously stupid scene I have ever seen in a movie.

So...like are they going to make Guile the main character so they could appeal to a more American audience. Either way, I'm trying to wrap my head around how they could possibly make this film acceptable to anyone's standards....

That reminds me, I can check out the VHS version of the live action SF at my local library, maybe I'll do it.

Well, maybe, but keep in mind that the film is ridiculously old...older than DVDs anyway. Apparently it came out in 1995, according to rottentomatoes.com.

Anyway, I just hope the next Street Fighter movie isn't as bad as Dead or Alive. *shivers...

I like the idea of a new StreetFighter movie, but Hollywood will screw it up. Unless they get some talented actors who actually look like the characters from the game, plus some decent dialog and outstanding fight choreography.

I'd really like to see Capcom succeed in making a videogame based movie like Marvel has with their comic based movie but not having Ryu and Ken in the movie really boggles my mind. They're the essence of Street Fighter. I'll still keep an eye on this and hope for the best but I'm quite bewildered with this choice.

That's silly to leave out the 2 most popular/well known characters from the franchise.

That's just an excuse to be stupidly lazy when writing the script. StreetFighter isn't about one character. It's about the best fighters in the world coming together to topple a tyrant.

There arent that many good action movies with a woman as a star so if this movie turns out good I have no idea what people are complaining about. Chun Li is a favorite character of many people and makes for a hella lot more interesting character than Ken.
