That's a GREAT deal. If it works and has the hook-ups, I'd snatch it up. On average they go for around $50.

50$ ??? they honestly go for that amount in the US?
if so , thats overpriced, you can get a Saturn here, with games , controllers , etc for £30 if you look around for a decent deal.
now £30 is about 50$ but things are more expensive here anyways.

$30 bucks could get you a Genesis or a Dreamcast, but Saturns are a bit more rare, in my experience.

well , you live on the other side of the world so Id accept differences http://www.ebay.co.uk/ctg/Sega-Saturn-Black-Console-/108508382?_catref=1&_dmpt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameConsoles_VideoGameConsoles&_pcategid=139971&_pcatid=815&_refkw=saturn+console&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5250&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 for instance, here is how much they cost on Ebay UK (though alot of them are bids) if you see that, you might understand why I feel 50$ would be too much. then again , an NES here isn't exactly cheap , while they are super common in the US , honestly Ive never seen an NES game in any 2nd hand shop Ive been too , but Ive almost always found Master System games. That's not bad at all. Might be worth it to see if there any good lots on ebay first though if you're to buy games for it already.

That's quite the contrary to the US. NES stuff everywhere, Master System stuff a rarity (at least shopping locally) for 3rd-gen, N64 and PS1 everywhere for 5th-gen while Saturn stuff is significantly harder to find outside of online markets with higher prices. In terms of Saturn pricing, they tend to go for a fair bit on eBay. As for selling locally...couldn't tell you since they're not nearly as common as the Genesis (Mega Drive) and Dreamcast. I just got super-lucky and got mine with a game and several accessories for the low, low price of free (had a relative who wasn't using his, so he gave it to me). I guess it's a matter of which consoles succeeded in which markets. If anything, the Saturn's vindicated by history now that the core gamers know what to look for, and people are willing to pay up more to experience what they missed the first time around. (Sometimes a whole lot more, if we're talking Panzer Dragoon Saga or Radiant Silvergun, though the latter now has an XBLA remake that should drop the prices down a bit.)[QUOTE="Darkman2007"][QUOTE="Emerald_Warrior"]well , you live on the other side of the world so Id accept differences http://www.ebay.co.uk/ctg/Sega-Saturn-Black-Console-/108508382?_catref=1&_dmpt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameConsoles_VideoGameConsoles&_pcategid=139971&_pcatid=815&_refkw=saturn+console&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A5250&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 for instance, here is how much they cost on Ebay UK (though alot of them are bids) if you see that, you might understand why I feel 50$ would be too much. then again , an NES here isn't exactly cheap , while they are super common in the US , honestly Ive never seen an NES game in any 2nd hand shop Ive been too , but Ive almost always found Master System games. well the Master System outsold the NES over in PAL regions (from what I understand, the biggest NES market in Europe was Germany) , so that partly explains that. the MD also outsold the SNES here so its generally a bit cheaper as well.
the Saturn however was no more popular over here than it was in the US, so it makes me wonder why Saturn prices are higher there.

Man i saw a Saturn at the store for $15 with all 8 of it's entire library that came with it. While cheap I do findit funny I see Dreamcasts going for $10 and Sonic Advenutre is already inside almost everyone.[QUOTE="Darkman2007"]

I still can't believe the Saturn costs 50$ in the US, the Saturn isn't a super common system , but its not rare either. if we go by the current exchange rate, 50$ is just over £32 ..... I don't know where Emerald went but it's always been $15 to $20. as for 3DO it depends, on the East side of the united states some stores like CVS and Radioshcal sell 3DO's at like 20-$30 with about 3-7 games. Or the entire 8 good game library of the Saturn for $14[QUOTE="Darkman2007"]

As long as it works I'd buy it. One thing you might want to be aware of is that the internal memory on my Saturn died after a couple years and thus I couldn't save my progress. I had to leave my system on for a week to take down Dragon Force.
orion_52
That's crazy. Does the Saturn have memory cards that allow you to save games? Or is it entirely reliant on the internal memory for saving games?

the Saturn does have memory cards, and they have insane amounts of space (for the time) , I have one , and I have 88 Saturn games, and there is still 1/4 of the card left. the only games that really require internal saving, are some early games, as well as games that need the RAM cart (since you can't have a save cartrige and a RAM cart at the same time) , though this list of games is quite small.[QUOTE="arkephonic"][QUOTE="orion_52"]

they are very common online.
just avoid the 3rd party ones, they can actually break the Saturn's cartridge port , since the PCB board is a little thicker on them than the standard Sega cards, and since the Saturn's cart slot is made of cheap tin , it can break.
