[QUOTE="geodoc"][QUOTE="Panzer_Zwei"] You can't just insert a RAM cart to eliminate slowdown or improve performance in games. It doesn't work like that. Outside of minor exceptions, games that Support RAM carts won't even boot without the proper RAM cart inserted. You can't also use a 4MB cart for games that require a 1MB one.
In the case of Dracula X. The slowdown and lack of transparency effects was because of a very poor translation work by Konami Nagoya. There was really no need to use a RAM cart to make the game superior to the Playstation version. But Konami Nagoya opted instead by using the original Playstation code for porting the game to the Saturn, and so they didn't took advantage of the vastly superior Saturn 2D capabilities.
Also the Shenmue Saturn version video wasn't leaked. It came as an extra with Shenmue II on the Dreamcast and Xbox.

The ram cart worked for me. I know it wont work for every game, but you never know. Doom and SOTN run better for me on my saturn with the cart in. I'm happy :-)
No they don't. You might think they do, but RAM carts don't do absolutely anything for games that don't support them. The hardware doesn't draw any extra RAM for itself unless the software requests it. That's like saying FMVs in games will look better with a MPEG cart inserted, it makes no sense.
None of those games support any RAM cart. The RAM cart wasn't even released overseas for it to be supported by any western games like Doom.
Furthermore, the slowdown and load times in the Saturn version of Dracula X are design flaws imbued in the game's code. It is not something that you could improve or fix with anything.
