Should Bungie come out with just a sole Halo: Multiplayer game?

Granted Halo 3 ODST came with a second disc for multiplayer, but it also came with a story mode as well. There is no doubt that multiplayer is what drives most of Halo consumers to buy these games in the first place. Do you think they should come out with a definitive, multiplayer-only, release and focus solely on online combat and customization. In my opinion, I think they have exhausted all means of a storyline in the Halo universe and if they plan on any future games wouldn't it just seem like they're grasping at redundant story-archs. They should same themselves the time from creating campaigns. I believe they'd be even more successful if they put all their efforts into the multiplayer. Also, for those looking for co-op play, that's what DLC is for.

Bungie won't be releasing anything Halo for a long time. But 343 might do that, although they need to have some sort of singleplayer experience for it to be the hit that every Halo game is.

I would like some form of a single player. But indeed they can go all out with multplayer. Reach seemed to do that well with an insane amount of ranks and allowing so many customization options that effect your spartan in all game modes. I think a halo with way more maps and more customization options would be a good start. I'd like to be able to choose every single piece of armor, including gauntlets, legs, and boots alongside what reach offers. It would be fun to be able to color them individually as well instead of having just two tone options.

As far as I'm concerned, the story is done. I can understand the appeal of a co-op game, because it replaces the AI and gives the game more fun, but I really think Halo would be ruined if the story tries to stretch beyond its intial paragon. With Halo Reach, it definitely gave us a glimpse of what the possibilities could be. I think Halo: Reach's multiplayer had something for everyone.

Absolutely not. I don't want to have a solely multiplayer Halo game, because if it sells like hotcakes, the developer of Halo might decide that's where the big money is and focus solely on multiplayer and include a horrible single-player campaign or none at all. I play a game somewhat for the multiplayer, but mostly for the single player much of the time.

First off, I should point out that Bungie is no longer working on Halo, so this question is irrelevant. But to give you an answer, no they shouldn't. The thing that has always made Halo special is the sheer amount of stuff you can do. Theres campaign, firefight, forge, matchmaking, custom games, and theater. Each of which offer different experiences. And to top it off they all have some sort of multiplayer component. To take away any of those would be a huge loss for the franchise.

Besides, the Halo universe is surprisingly deep. There are plenty of people who are absolutely in love with the story and would get very angry if it was removed. Not that it matters though since like I said Bungie is no longer making Halo...

Not really. Why get one when you can get both campaign and multiplayer on the same disc?

No I don't think so. I love them the way they are and find them to be a 'total package' kind of game, especially with Reach. Great campaign, Forge mode, a fantastic multiplayer mode, and awesome saved films feature. I say keep going with it as is.

New question then:Would you trust anyone that's not Bungie to come out with a new Halo that brings together all those elements for an acceptable gaming experience?

Again, I'm surprised that many fans of Halo STILL don't know about 343 Industries and what they're about.

This would be convenient for me, because I don't really care for Halo's SP. The first one's SPwas kinda innovative at the time but the lore never grabbed me. I just though Master Chief looked cool and that was it.

But from a business standpoint they'll probably keep releasing full games for more money, but I think Reach will be it for a while.

Yes, yes, yes. Ya got me. I know less about Halo than you do. Kudos. My question still stands though.

Just saying, this news came out quite a while ago. It's always one of the most asked questions as far as the future of the Halo franchise. Who's taking over after Bungie. Well, now you know.
