So I have that offer for the ps2 game, you guys think its way to much or it's cool? I'm leaning more into buying it.

The used Xbox version is 59.99 online at gamestop.com. Besides that, whenever I see one at a gamestop, the PS2 is always 79.99, so I think $100 is just a little too much.

Only if either 1) you really REALLY love the game and don't have access to the Dreamcast version, or 2) you are a diehard game collector. Otherwise, I can't really recommend it for so much. The Dreamcast version is the best version of the game (the PS2 version is plagued with slowdown and some technical faults), is still the current tournament standard, and can be found for far less than the PS2 version.

In the end though, it's your money and you're free to spend it however you wish.

My at-a-glance response would've been "ABSOLUTELY NOT!". However, looking into the game a bit more, like a quick browse of all the prices on amazon and ebay, reveal that this $100 purchase is quite a good deal. If you really want the game I say buy it.

Hmm well maybe i'll think of it more. Its because it's really hard to find it here in Mexico and I finally saw it but they are selling it at 100 bucks. Are the slowdowns really that bad on the ps2 version? Like unplayable? Are there any other problems?

Way too much. If you are patient, it will come around in one form or another for peanuts.

Why is this game so rare and expensive? I remember working at Toys R US' R ZOne and the game was new and $49,99 back in 2002.

$100 is way to extreme for a used PS2 game. Shoot even if it's new it's still too expensive.

Nah, it's not unplayable. I should just say it's not quite as faithful to the original arcade version (while the Dreamcast version is almost spot on since the DC's hardware is very similar to the arcade hardware).

It's so rare and expensive because it got a very limited print run. If I remember correctly, not too long after MvC2 came out on the PS2/Xbox Capcom lost the license to use Marvel IPs in games, so they had to also cut short the production run of this game. This led to the limited number of available copies.

Thats freaking stupid. For 100$ I could get 5 killer games off ebay. I can already tell you its not the best fighter out there. Thats Soul Calibur.

maybe for some other rarer gems but not MvC 2

I have the game, got it new for 35$ when I rebought a Dreamcast in 2005 I think

It's fun, but not something I'd pay 100$ for at the most it's probably 50$ with everything in perfect condition

Are you getting it because you want to play a great game or are you getting it because you are a collector?

If you are a collector, it all depends on your budget and how much you want this game in your collection.

If you just want to play a good game, I wouldn't waste that much money. There are so many better fighting games on the market. It's a good game, but not great. It isn't worth $50, let alone $100.

Nope. I payed 40 bucks for my dreamcast version and i found it to be a rip off. It's not that fun single player. You should just get a dreamcast emulator.

If I was going to spend $100 I would buy a Dreamcast off e-bay for around $50 and then buy the Dreamcast version for about $65. That way you would have the best version of the game and an amazing new system that you can use. I think it's crazy to pay $100 for a lesser version of the game. I personally own the Dreamcast and Xbox version and I should probably sell the Xbox version because I never play it. MvC2 is one of the most played games at my house. Just to give you an idea. I own a 360, Wii, and Ps3 and my friends still always want to play the Dreamcast and MvC2. Just bite the bullet and get a Dreamcast.

No, shop around it's not worth 100 bucks. Keep looking around you'll eventually find it cheaper.

It's worth $40-50 or less.

I bought mine used at eb games (gamestop) for 20 bucks. I sold it for 50 and it was in mint condition. That's just too much, just ebay it or tell the person that it isn't worth quite that much.
