I tried the demos and I can run Half LIfe 2 on max setting with my rig below. My only concern is can it run Portal on max settings as well?
Or should I stick with my Xbox 360?

Always ALWAYS get Valve games on the PC unless they happen to be named L4D and you have four real life friends to play with. L4D is so much better on the consoles than PC imo, but everything else PC especially since PC games like TF2 (Part of the Orange Box) actually get updates on the PC.
I think during some point in Gamespot's review of the Orange Box, the X360 version of Half-Life 2, which was released a couple years after HL2, actually looked better because the graphics got an update. I don't know if that carried over for the PC version as well. I'd go with 360 version.
Easily PC. You get the TF2 updates, a more lively community, and more.Deadly_Fatalis
I chose the Xbox 360 version but might get TF2 for my PC as well.
The most obvious perks of the PC version have already been mentioned, so I'll add one that's indirectly related: mods. Personally, one of my favorites is Garry's Mod (or "GMod" for short), which is unavailable on consoles. The more Source games you have, the better, since just about anything from them can be used in GMod. I still need L4D, so I'm currently absent some ragdolls, props, textures, etc.
