I think so too.
I really liked this fake:

Seemed like the GC pad, but perfected.
There was no need to copy the 360 pad.
But I also think they should support it better. (i.e. make most games compatible with it)
I like it, although I still prefer the Big A and B buttons with X and y on the top sides.I think so too.

They all look uncomfortable.
One day a company will have the foresight to include changeable positions for left-analogue and D-pad. I know 50% of the people here will disagree but having the left stick so high asks your thumb to move in an unnatural fashion to turn left. I had to quit my dream-job because of the horrific hand-cramps the poor controllers were giving me.
But back on-topic, i'd say of them all the Gamecube controller looks the most comfortable and the Wii looks the most likely to slip from your grasp. And the Wii-U looks flashy but completely unsuitable for precision gaming - though maybe that's the point.
Basically: Yes to the topic title. :D
The Gamecube controller was not that great. it was not that bad either, but not having clickable analog sticks and one less shoulder button hurt the system. The triggers themselves had to be pushed in quite a bit for a game to respond. The SNES style controller is best.  Â
I wish every controller had a layout like the 360 controller. JML897

360 pad doesn't have ideal analog stick position, imo.
The best analog stick position is GCs, imo.
But I do like the new X1 pad.
I wish every controller had a layout like the 360 controller. JML897Yea, this ^^ The 360 controller is quite possibly the best controller ever created in my opinion, the D-pad is weak but I never used that anyway.

That's not possible because this is the best console controller ever created by man. (or aliens)Â ;)

you could still use gamecube controllers for most games that used classic controls lol, Â
Â
but no , i think the ccpro was perfect ,Â
and the wiiu is good to , but id like the n64 style -flashy colors etc

They are almost exactly the same.[QUOTE="nameless12345"]I like it, although I still prefer the Big A and B buttons with X and y on the top sides.I think so too.

That was the one thing I hated about the GC controller. It made playing SNES classics like Mega Man X and DKC so awkward.
I don't understand why the Wii U controller has the analogs above the face buttons. Could someone explain why?XxR3m1xInHDn3D
When it was first revealed, everyone was talking smack on it for being so similar to the 360 controller. the analog/ button pad switch up is really the only big diffrence between the two.
Which doesn't make much sense, because with the same reasoning, MS "ripped off" the GC controller with their first Xbox controller.
No way; the GC had a terrible controller.
The button layout was bad, unless the game was designed specifically to work with it. Multiplats were bad because controls were designed for the gace buttons to be in a diamond. The dpad was too small, and the c-stick sucked.
The classic controller was my favourite, and the one for the WiiU looks pretty cool, too.
As much as I liked the Gamecube controller, it's been good that Nintendo has classic and pro controllers avaiable too.
I can't agree to that. I can understand MOST traditional fighters (save for something like Naruto: Clash of Ninja and Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles where their simplistic methods fit fine), but even with Soul Calibur II or DBZ: Budokai, it still worked once you got used to it.No way; the GC had a terrible controller.

In other games, like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Lord of the Rings: Two Towers/Return of the King, and LEGO Star Wars worked quite alright with the face button placements. As for the C-Stick, I don't think it's too bad for functionality either based on my experience with TS2 or dual-analog mode in Star Fox: Assault.
I'll give you the D-Pad size though, that's pretty bad.
