Every game should have the option to view the cutscenes once you have seen them. I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentaly skipped a custcene and cannot view it again which makes me quite angry lol. if ANYONE has played Darksiders

***SPOILERS***

and can find the scene where you first meet Azrael (after getting the fourth heart), PLEASE LINK ME! I am trying not to see other scenes/information as the story in a game is important to me. Thank you very much.

I feel your pain man, I always have a bad habit of accidentally skipping the most important scenes in games and it annoys me to no end.

My mind is a bit fuzzy on where you are in the game, but is this the cutscene your looking for? Major spoilers for those that still need to reach this point and I also haven't watched the video yet, so sorry if it ends up being the wrong one ;)

NINJA EDIT: Just watched the video and it ended up being some stupid lets play vid with a very annoying narrator, its also the scene you get right after the part you are anyways, so I deleted the link just in case I spoiled everything. I recommend you scrounge a bit on youtube for something, otherwise I really don't know where else you can watch the cutscene online.

Ha ha... yeah, I can see how that sucks. Most games have something built in where you either have to hit two buttons or do something intentional in order for the cut scene to be skipped.

To be honest though, I'd rather have the option to skip cut scenes than to not be able to. On a 3rd or 4th playthrough, I already know what's going to happen.

Unskippable cut-scenes are probably my largest gripe in gaming. Especially in situations where you are watching them over and over due to death and having to repeat parts of the game. It's already frustrating and then they throw that 5 min wait time in there to rub your nose in it.

agreed - i like it when games bring up an option that say something like *press START to skip* so if you accidentally hit a button your fine - however if your speedrunning the game you can skip the scenes as desired

Xenosaga did it right. You pressed start during a cutscene, and they gave you the option if you wanted to skip it or not.

Games need a double-press. I've been playing Comic Jumper (not a great game, really) and you press A and then X to skip a cutscene. Mass Effect 2 really annoyed me on replays because I'd constantly skip dialogue and accidentally respond because X skipped dialogue AND initiated your response. Bioware seemed to realize this as Dragon Age 2 let you skip the dialogue but only the A button would work for your response. I think recent Final Fantasy games let you press start and then choose 'continue' or 'skip,' which is a good solution too. But to have an errant button press instantly screw up your cutscene seems ridiculous, especially if you have pets or kids who get a bit pokey.

I know I hate that. I've gone back and played like 30 minute sections just to make sure I watch a cutscene.

It is annoying. But do you know what I find more annoying? When the there's a big button prompt on the screen like in Homefront or Crysis 2 that says PRESS X TO SKIP.

i find myself wiching more game would let you pause them, so many times i'm in the middle of a cinematic or some dialouge when somebody comes in the room talking to me and i'm afraid if i hit esc, start, w/e that it'll just skip the scene entierly.

I can't stand it when you're watching a cut-scene, and somebody comes into the room and starts talking to you. No, I can't just pause it, it's a cut-scene; there is no pause. And now I've just missed a crucial plot-point forty hours into this story. Thanks -_-

In alot of games you can just hit the xbox button and it pauses the scene. I'm not sure if it works with playstation button.

Yeah, I really hate that. I'm at the point where I won't even try to pause because I don't want to risk potentially skipping something.

It's hit or miss with the PS button too - some games will pause, some won't. Dragon Age 2 pauses when you hit the PS button, though. It also pauses load screens when you hit it, which is bizarre.

I know I remember that from the first dragon age. I would be like "oh loading screen". *presses xbox button and goes to get sandwitch* then come back and see it's still at the same spot.

This and having games where the first few levels are tutorial levels and there is no way to skip through them. Some games like Crysis 1 had some stuff at the beginning that I didn't mind where it had you go through stuff but I've played some games where it makes you do very mundane stuff and you always have to go through it every new playthrough.

well that does suk but i feel game design has evolved to take that into account for the most part. Many of the games i play allow you to not only skip but pause cut scenes. Many also give you teh ability to skip and have you confirm it to make sure that its not accidental. All games may not be like that yet but i see that level of support becoming mandatory in the near future.

Every game should be like Uncharted 2.

Start > Press 2 times down > X > Are you sure you want to skip the cutscene? (Yes)
