I started playing Skyrim a couple months ago. I generally don't rush through games if I like them. I like to take my time and get the most out of a game. The amount of content in Skyrim is unreal. It seems like it don't end. For every quest I finish I pick up 5 more.

I didn't play Skyrim when it originally came out. I was caught up in Dark Souls at the time. I had a PS3 and Skyrim was a broken mess on the system. So I passed on it at the time.

I can't wait to see what they do with the next Elder Scrolls game.

I got Skyrim a little while after release on my PS3, maybe a couple of monoths or so and it wasn't a broken mess. All the patches had done their job and I don't think I came across anything but minor glitches (a companion got stuck on a wall lol).

BUT its good you're finally enjoying one of the truly great RPGs. That gen had ME2, FO3 and Skyrim. Seriously, 3 of the best RPGs ever, it's just ridiculous that nothing has touched them since.

I had a great experience with Skyrim, thanks to the modding community, I bought it on the xbox 360 while I was saving for a PC and lost interest in it quickly.

The Elder Scrolls are best played on PC IMHO. One of the all time great series

Definitely had my fun with it. I just don't think I could ever get back into it again. For a while I wanted to do a new playthrough but I just couldn't enjoy it the same after spending 200+ hours with one character. Didn't realize how much time I spent grinding skills to get better stuff. It felt rewarding enough the first time around, but nope, not doing that again. I did get it for the PC and tried to play again after installing some mods. Just didn't have the motivation to get into again. Still one of my favorite games, don't get me wrong.

The fixed quests do end, but the radiant quests do literally go on forever. Except they get really repetitive after a while. The true endless content of Skyrim is mods.

They really did put the time in creating one-off quests with their own stories, like the vampire troubles in Falkreath, the Forsworn situation in Markath, the cursed Dwemer item...there's so many. And there's neat little things to find like the woman who lives by herself in the mountains and will teach you archery by scoring hits in sequence on target markers. Really made it easy to create your own story on the fly because there's so much stuff going on. Meanwhile, they just phoned in Fallout 4. Hard to find those enjoyable one-off quests and even the main factional storylines (of which there are half as many) are mostly just radiant quests.

Skyrim sure has massive amount of side quests. Pretty much every location you find has a little side quest waiting for you. I spent well over 100 hours on my first playthru of it, as I combed the whole map to find every single quest and location.

And then I did it all over again on several further plays!

Even now I have a play of Skyrim going on in the backround. Whenever there is nothing else to do, I fire up Skyrim and do some exploring or finish up few more quests.

Yeah those 4k pc mods look pretty insane. Maybe someday I'll do a play through on pc in 4k.
