Just watch it yesterday, and found it as a... dissapointment? Alright it got some nice action, i like the scene where the prince climbing the city wall and his acrobatic run across the rooftops to escape the city guard, eventough its more like an Assassins Creed than a Prince of Persia. And for the dissapointment? Predictable story, not much like the game, and no sand demon..

i rate it 6.0

Well, never expect too much from a game adaptation movie

Pardon my english..

Your English is fine. I want to see it; the paper didn't rate the actal film so much as the actors and some feeble attempts at explaining the plot. They made it sound so horrid. They gave it 2.5 out of five stars.

I havne't watched it, but what did you expect from a game based movie?

the producers suck at those.. they probably never even tried to play the game to get a feel for what Prince of persia is about...

and it's by disney

screw disney :\

took marvel.. and now prince of persia, they really can't make any good films these days.. The only good one's was rattitoue, up, and walle

Well for you all that haven't watch it, i suggest you watch another movie instead of wasting your money on this movie. Just watch it only to fulfil your curiosity. But hey, one thing that i don't understand is, most of my friends says that the movie is cool! I dont know, maybe its me that dont have the sense of good movie, or maybe its my friends..

6/10 for a movie based on a video game? That's pretty good considering most of them are crap.

The bottom line: Video games and movies are two total forms of entertainment. They do NOT go together.

A friend of mine saw it and said they did a pretty good job. IGN also said that it was the best game to film adaptation so far. That's not saying much, but since I've enjoyed all for the RE films and the first Tomb Raider movie as well, I hoping that I will enjoy this. I'll be waiting for this to come home though.

Just watched the movie yesterday, it was actually pretty good, considering it was a videogame movie. The action sequences were well played, but I guess there's too much CGI, especially at the end (or was it too much sand?). But anyways, it's a popcorn movie, so it's not to be taken seriously, watch it with a bucket of popcorn with friends and you'll be guaranteed a fun time. The actors kept it alive, and the prince was likable too! Overall a solid adaptation, worth watching for fun.

I actually quite enjoyed it. Certainly wasn't the best film ever but for a game based adaption it was enjoyable.

As films go, it's alright. It's certainly not going to win any awards, but neither are people going to be clawing their way out of the cinema with their eyes bleeding. If you go to the cinema regularly and have seen most of the big releases, then PoP isn't a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Set your expectations appropriately and you can't go wrong.

I guess it was good by videogame movie standards, but it was still a huge letdown: it was boring and predictable and the plot and characters were changed too much. The stunts were good and you can tell they worked on recreating what happens in the game. Here's my complaints (minor spoilers): 1. Characters and names: the Prince has no name in the games, why should they invent one for the movie? Why did they come up with an entirely different princess when they could use Farah from the games? Why replace the evil Vizir with the Prince's uncle? 2. Plot: what's wrong with the game plot? The Persian army invades a city and the evil Vizir breaks the seal of the Sands of Time to become a god and everyone in the palace (including the Prince's father) become sand monsters the Prince has to fight alongside with princess Farah to undo what has been done. What was wrong with that plot? Why did they have to change it up? 3. Comical relief & Sexual tension: in the games (at least in 1 and 3) the Prince is a wisecracking jackass whose crazy one liners and Farah's sarcastic remarks create a funny atmosphere which accompanies you through the levels. Here, the Prince and princess are BORING... he only makes a few funny faces now and then and she only looks pretty and nags all the time. Their interactions are just trite bits of sexual tension we've seen a million times already. To makes us 'laugh' they had to invent a stereotypical merchant-like character (with racing ostriches) as a sidekick. You guessed it: he's not even remotely funny. I had high hopes for this movie, but I kept looking at my watch all the way to the end credits. It could have been great if they stuck to the original formula, but hollywood is hopeless I guess. Do I have to rate it? 6.0: it's watchable, but completely forgettable, like a Xena episode.

I'm 100% agree with you. It always keeps me wondering why are the game based movie directors never just use the games plot instead of making a whole new cheesy b-movie plot. I guess their biggest blunder is they are trying to make the movie to be still enjoyable and understandable by the non gamer people. Lets just pray that the upcoming Tekken movie will not ruin the game flawless record..

I thought the movie was pretty enjoyable, but I've never played the game series so I don't know how different the two are, but I can only imagine the things that must've been left out since it was made by Disney.
