And we just finished the second one. Now what I want to do is go to the first one (which I have never played, like number 3). But, with the remake coming out I'm wondering if it would be better to move to 4 in the mean time, and wait for the remake of the first one. And then after playing the remake, move to the third one. So I want to make sure that I wouldn't be missing something too significant if we played Shattered Memories in place of the original. Also I'd like to know what system to play the remake on, as she has both the Wii and the PS2. Thing is, I kinda would lean on the PS2 version of the game since the control scheme is familiar. The Wii mote seems kinda awkward but I'm willing to try it if you all think it would enhance the game in any way. But anyway, thanks for reading and I thank you in advance for any help towards this subject.
The "remake" isn't a remake. It doesn't play the same as the original (for example, there is no combat whatsoever), and it screws with the plot of the original so that you make the plot. So you can play the remake, but it's not the official plot of Silent Hill. and judging from some screens, they're mixing up the symbolism in the game so it looks like they don't have a real good grasp of Silent Hill.
In other words, the Silent Hill remake is a bastardization of the original and you should play the PS1 version.
I don't know about the remake. I do know i am getting it. I havent had the chance to play the original version and the SH series is one of my favs :(. I hope you enjoyed the second game. It was soooo good. I loved the 3rd one as well. The 4th and Homecoming were weak.

eh, My girl friend and I just finished Final Fantasy XII and The Last Remnant and now we are playing Persona 4 together. She always do level grinding whilst I'm working and progress the storyline together when I'm back. XD
