So, Two Worlds 2 and Gothic 4 are coming out on like the same day...

Ive really been itching for an Oblivion clone ever since Elder Scrolls 4 came out. I picked up Two worlds for about 4$ in the bargain bin and loved it. (4 dollars why not...)

and Ive been looking into Gothic 4 and Two Worlds 2 ever since E3, and they are both set to come out in October. But they are both like the same game. I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on either of the two.

Both are shaky for me. I didn't really love Gothic 3 or Two Worlds. I would take Gothic 3 over Two Worlds so I guess Gothic 4.

I know i'll be getting Two Worlds 2 over Gothic 4. I really enjoyed my time with Two Worlds, even though most people seem to hate it.

The voice acting was so terrible I didn't notice if the gameplay is any good. I am dead serious.

Yeah, Two Worlds 2 and Gothic 4 look a little iffy. But TW2 looks so much better than the first one, definitely.

Im just craving an open world RPG, and it looks as though I may have to settle for mediocrity.

Truth be told i really liked the voice acting. It was so terrible it just made me laugh and enjoy the game even more. The gameplay to me was just fine because of the way you could upgrade your favorite weapons and armor sets to suit your needs. It never felt unbalanced because of that, even against the many dragons in the game.

It wasn't as good as say Oblivion or Morrowind, but it is still one of my favorite 360 games.

Don't get me started on Oblivion, I believe it to be very over rated. I may check out the Two Worlds demo again to give it a whirl.

Haha, that's why i said Morrowind as well. I see a lot of people here praise Morrowind over Oblivion.

To be honest I only played Morrowind for 5 minutes so I have no real opinion on it. My problems with Oblivion are quite simply that there are many better RPGs that also have less bugs.

I enjoyed Two Worlds (I know a lot of people hate it). I thought that the design decisions at its core were interesting, as different character classes were viable and played differently, some of the quests and the way you could essentially alienate or destroy entire communities depending on your decisions, and some of the inclusion of different art styles for areas (like the Asian inspired town with huge bamboo forests). It just didn't work very well or play very well, and could have used a bit more time for polish. The second game looks to fix that problem nicely. Although part of me hopes they keep the awful voice acting, as it was so bad it became awesome.

If you're looking for an open world rpg, try RISEN if you haven't already, but not on the 360! (its also available for PC) It's by the same people who made Gothic I, II and III (I know III has its problems but Risen is more like Gothic II).
