So what is the greatest RPG of all time?

Across all the consoles from every generation from the western RPG's to JRPG's what is the best not a series a specific game.

Either Diabo 2 or Morrowind.

my favorite RPG ever made was definetly Shining Force on the Genesis.

I've always been partial to Phantasy Star IV, myself, though FFVII, FF, Dragon Warrior, and Zelda: A Link to the Past (which I consider an RPG) are all in the conversation.

Persona 3:FES ties with FF6 for me.

Morrowind, definitely.

But followed closely by Final Fantasy Tactics, Phantasy Star IV, Knights of the Old Republic, and FFVI.

(I am playing FFVII for the first time right now, and its really good...)

Its impossible to choose, but my favorite is Chrono Cross.

For me it's between Shining Force 2 or Final Fantasy 6. I can't choose just one!

There is no greatest RPG of all time, only your personal favorite RPG of all time.

Anyway, my favorite has to be Crono Trigger, it was my first RPG and i just love that game, i also love FFVI, FFVIII, ToS, etc, but Crono Trigger is a very special game to me, thanks to this game, i love RPGs.

Chrono trigger. All the way.

FFX for me. First one I ever played and was blown away by it. Holds a lot of sentimental value for me, but it's also a fantastic game.

For me, it's between Dragon Quest III, Dragon Quest V, Dragon Quest VIII, and Earthbound.

Lunar Eternal Blue (Sega CD) or Diablo 2.

If it counts; World of Warcraft is one of the most expansive and well-thought out worlds made in gaming I think. But in terms of more traditional RPGs; Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 1, the Paper Mario series. I don't play enough RPGs to really make a great list; but I play a few...
