I'm not going through all that...and I shouldn't have to. Playing XBLA games is a pain in the ass w/ that horribly designed D-pad. Even if you can play with that Hori controller, I'm not playing fighters on a 360 consoles. Most lemmings don't care for fighters. The PS3 is the way to go for fighters. majadamus
That's right! Generalizations based on console ownership are alwaysreliable. Them 360 owners won't play fighting games, they're too busy with their FPS after FPS lamalamalam! No fighting game fans could be attracted by the fact that the 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 is based on revision C or features surprisingly bearable online play--they'll play on the PS3 because they're not (insert derogatory term based on random animals)!!11!one!eleven!!

Should swap it out for the one from the SNES or if possible the Dualshock. You know, a good d-pad.

Anything that needs to be taken apart to work right is broken in the first place.

If you use a stick, then modifying the pad is pointless.

Good point but a lot of folks in fact most are never getting a stick. This looks like a good fix, I never use the D-pad .... so I won't attempt it.

:? Does not compute. If you're going to go out of your way to name good D pads you should do it, like the special Hori ones or the Sega Saturn Japanese controller, not a passable one like that on the DS.

The 360 controller would hands down be my favorite controller if it wasn't for that D-pad problem. I've noticed it's not as bad with my wired one that I use when friends come over or when I game on my PC, but it's still a big problem. It's actually one reason I never did get Lumines or Tetris on the 360.

There's no way I'm going to go through with a risky operation like that, though. I'm not that exceited about functioning d-pads, since I primarily play dual-joystick games like shooters.

Nice find, though it is a bit extreme as you have to open the controller. Kind of agree the D-Pad is really bad. I'm using the the controller to play DMC3 and sometimes I press up the game will detect that i press left and it ends up going to the wrong screen.

I  'd at "sausage fingers". We always call them "brat hands". In any case, I like this. But as others have suggested, I'd try to get a SNES dpad in there.

The "fix" doesn't take care of the awkward positioning of the dpad which requires you to press it at an angle. Just buy a stick if you want to play VF5.

Yeag I agree, there is an arcade stick for the likes of VF5 on the X360 to bring back those old arcade days :D
