So those who are fans of soccer (games) can you tell which game is best from here?

I'm italian, so I have to be a football fan (nobody ever calls it soccer in europe).

I haven't played fifa 08, so I can't really say, but I thought 06 and 07 were bad, while I had great fun with 05.

I think PES 2008 is a pile of rotten pigs covered in bitter chocolate and prune jam. That game is so filled with bugs it makes an ant colony feel miserable!
I've been loving PES since 1994 and this game is so terrible it almost made me wish they halted the series.

Well Fifa has more teams, players, modes, more stuff and then again more stuff.

But PES has way better gameplay and its way more fun to play. But still I'd go with FIFA just because of the manager mode.

I like Football (Soccer) and so do loads of other people throughout the world.

Unfortunately I don't like Football games so I can't rate either.

Most of my mates have been very dissapointed with this years PES. It has always stood head and shoulders above Fifa, but this year it seems they botched the job, so I think you should perhaps go with Fifa.
