GoG and Steam both have their latest horror game finally available for pre-order. Amnesia 1 is one of my favorite horror games of all time but I wasn't as happy with 2. There were many elements that were part of 1 that were absent from part 2 such as the voice over acting for the letters and log entries that you find, the ability to interact with pretty much everything in the environment, etc. From the trailers, Soma looks like it might be the sort of game that Alien Isolation wanted. The game is coming out 9-22-15 for PC, Max, Linux and PS4:

Anyone else interested? What do you think? Is the sci-fi setting too big a departure from the previous games?

I only recently played Amnesia and it was pretty good, so I have faith in the developers. With that said, I had no idea there were making this, but it looks incredible. It definitely has my interest.

Yeah, it wasn't on my radar until only a month or two ago but the trailers look -great-.

very excited for this game, been a fan of Frictional since the Penumbra series, and this is the first game they developed in-house since Amnesia 1, A Machine for Pigs was mostly handled by The Chinese Room. I still think that game has a fantastic name and premise, it just didn't capitalize on it enough

Yeah, I know it wasn't their fault but that's just another reason why I'm so excited for -this- game.

I love FG's focus on atmosphere and environment interactivity. However, A Machine For Pigs sucked and they were still associated with the project regardless if it was outsourced or not. So, I have lost confidence in the developer. This will be a wait and see for me. It does look good though.
