Yes, I just got this thread Idea from a thread made by another user so don;t use that "It's not original" line. I just though this thread must be made. Which region had the best Sonic CD soundtrack? Personally I believe the U.S. Soundtrack is unmatched with its quality, more blending with the game, and having more original tracks. However I will admit mixing them together with more levels would have been a game with music one could not handle to take in at one time, but separate, Sonic CD U.S. Sorry. but post your opinion on the subject.

I like both, so I can't choose. I will say I'll take Sonic Boom over Toot-Toot Sonic Warrior any day of the week.

The US version uses higher quality instruments to make it's presenceknown and stretches a few genres.

But My vote goes to EU/JP,because I felt it's soundtrack was much more in line with the pop music Sonic sound had built itself up to that time. Plus "Work that sucker to death" never gets old :D(US boss theme is way too creepy for it's own good.)

After playing through the excellent port of Sonic CD on XBLA multiple times, I think I slightly prefer the Japanese soundtrack. It just seems to fit more with Sonic and previous soundtracks.

This will help some people. I think the US version fits the game better overall, but the Japanese style has more energy in it.

I haven't played the game, but based on the video I guess I'd say the Japanese soundtrack was better. I didn't particularly like any of the songs though.

Sonic generations aint crap, BUT probably because it is based on the good sonic games. Wasn't Sonic Colors a good game too? But yeah I would not play Sonic 4 episode 1, I have no clue about episode 2.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccpY14bXcug&feature=relatedproof the Sonic is better as an American icon... Fun fact, Sonic was based on American attitude. Sonic makes me proud to be an American again! If you do not own a sonic game on the Genesis... You are not as American as me ;).

Japanese soundtrack FTW and it's not even close. I had a somewhat hard time getting into Sega CD the first few times I played it because of the annoying/boring U.S. soundtrack and how they tried so hard to make it sound like stereotypical mainstream American music. I was so happy when I bought the iPad version of the game and found out that it had the option for a different Japanese soundtrack, and once I tried the Japanese soundtrack out I loved it and never went back. Most of the tracks on the Japanese soundtrack sounds a bit more like standard video game music and was great. HOWEVER there a few stages in the game(past, present, or future) where the U.S. background music is just as good if not better than the Japanese background music. Overall Sonic and Knuckles had the best Sonic music IMO. I usually hate the sound of games that use the sound chip of the Sega Genesis, but Sonic The Hedgehog 2/3/&Knuckles utilize the sound chip really well and have some amazing music. Sonic 1 sounded pretty mediocre though compared to the others, but that's to be expected.

Also, kind of off topic, but speaking of remade games on the iPad... does anyone else here have Megaman X on the iPad? There's a $2.99 in-app purchase that changes the background music in the whole game into Arranged Music instead of standard SNES chip sounding crap. Yeah, $3 is a lot for a simple unlock app, but even though it's $3 trust me it's welllllll worth it if you love Megaman music. The arranged versions of the songs sound freaking AMAZING compared to the standard SNES chip versions. Worth every penny. I think the updated Arranged music is even better than the updated graphics/resolution. Does anyone know where I can buy (or "buy" ;) ) MP3's of those arranged versions? Send me a link on here or in PM that would be amazing.

both are great, but the European/Japanese one is better.

I was about to post this, each have songs that go with the level and don't and they are evenly split, so if you combine them it would be one hell of a game soundtrack.
