Okay, here's my pitch for the Tetris movie:
An alien race known only as the Tetroids have constructed a vast space station out of Tetron, an unusual square material that disappears when lined up more than 10 in a row. However, it's super-light and incredibly durable, which is why they use it so much.
An unfortunate parking accident results in a 10-line break at one of the ship's key structural points, resulting in the pieces of Tetron floating out into space.
Enter: Earth!
The Tetron begins falling to earth, crushing the earth's major capitals in the process. The world looks doomed, until one brave, optimistic 12 year old (played by a 20 year old actor) somehow, by freak accident, sees 10 of them line up and disappear. After reporting his findings to the government, he's made the head of "Operation Tetris". Using advanced super-computers, he orchestrates the world's miltary to fire upon the Tetron, forcing it into a line of 10. It all seems to be going well UNTIL! A poorly placed Russian missile causes a blockage, and the Tetron quickly begins building up and clogging the atmosphere. All looks lost until the world receives it's final saving grace - an I shaped Tetron!
Despite leaving the fate of the world in the hands of a twelve year old boy, somehow the day is saved and Tetron is destroyed forever.
OR IS IT!?
