Square Enix Makes a BIG announcement, but when will the next be?!

Now, that it was announced that the 3rd segment in Final Fantasy XIII, "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII," does this mean we'll finally get "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" within 1 or 2 years after that?! And, will we hear about "Kingdom Hearts III" after that?! We got the year of the completion of the FFXIII trilogy, and FF Versus XIII is NOT cancelled, and the next Kingdom Hearts game is supposed to be "3" (PS3 or PS4?). We have waited long enough!!! Will it be worth it?! I HOPE SO!!!

I skipped FF13-2, and yet for some reason Lightning Returns grabs my interest.

so when FF13-2 came out, i just skipped it, even though i understood the premise. Also, being told that it ends on a cliffhanger with episodic content didn't entirely bode well for me. Now with FF13-3 (can't we just call it that?), i can't help but ask this question.

is the team on FF13, a new one? like right out of college programmers and artists? because each one has been an improvement and it makes me wonder if it was either pure laziness on the Japanese part, or was it that they had an inexperienced team. Because it sure as hell wasn't for a lack of resources and time that was holding them back....

About FFv13 and Kingdom Hearts 3. I am still betting that FFv13 will get renamed FF15 when it finally comes to life. When KH3 gets announced, a game that i've also been waiting for many years now for, i do not expect to see it for another 10 years. Givne the propencity for Square Enix to announce stuff and not finish their products in any sort of decent manner of time. My want for those games are high, my anticipation and expectations are very low.

Apart from handheld games, Square Enix proper (not their owned studios in the West) has not given me much confidence or want for their console games.

I played and enjoyed both Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2. That being said, I ask this seriously: why in the hell should anybody care about another Final Fantasy XIII game??? (sans the largely unrelated Versus XIII, of course) The story was so lousy in the first place that, even with XIII-2's massive cliffhanger ending, the point remains that it's really not a story that demands continuation. XIII-2 was nice for what it was (gameplay-wise), and the cliffhanger ending was, in my opinion, a mistake given how incredibly flimsy the story leading up to it was. I would really love for SquareEnix to just move on to Final Fantasy XV already (and again, I'm still hopeful for Versus XIII).

And yeah, Kingdom Hearts III would be nice too. KH3D felt so terribly by-the-numbers. I would love for KHIII to put this series to rest, and hopefully in style.

I couldn't care less about Versus 13. Maybe if it came out a few years ago, but after six years of nearly nothing, I don't see how anyone can still muster excitement for it. Basically vaporware at this point.

And, honestly, with a third Final Fantasy 13 game now on the way, I think I'm done with the series. It had a good run, but if absurdly long development times and unnecessary sequels are the future, I want no part of it.

Please don't be another game in the FFXIII universe!

They had to remake XIV from scratch, so maybe that pulled a lot of manpower away from other projects and caused this huge delay with Versus XIII? Meh, who knows. They keep insisting it's still in production and looking great, so I guess we'll see it some day.
