Hey all!

This subject has been bothering me for years!

I absolutely love Star Ocean: The Second Story on my PS1, and I think it's the best RPG hands down.

I remember beating the game and watching the credits, and after the credits were done, there was a screen that said something along the lines of "Continue the story on The Fantastic Space Odyssey" or something like that. I dont know what that meant, but is it a game I dont know about?

Anyway, do any of the new Star Ocean games continue Claude and Rena's story?

Actually, you're wrong. The Japan only Star Ocean: Blue Sphere (Game Boy Color) is a direct sequel to Star Ocean: The Second Story. Despite the game being Japan only, it still worth getting, IMO. The battle system is similar to the 2D Tales of games btw. Funnily enough, Star Ocean: Blue Sphere battle system feels more like it from a Tales of game, unlike Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon (also for the Game Boy Color) battle system, which ended up being kinda turnbased.. and lame.

He's correct. Though Blue Sphere probably plays more like Star Ocean for the Super Famicon. In any case, if you like Star Ocean: The Second Story, there's a PSP remake of Star Ocean for the PSP and there's an enhanced port of the second game coming out this month, which I'll also be getting even though I do own the original PSOne version. Star Ocean: Til the End of Time is only $20 for the PS2 and the 4th game, which is a prequel to all the games is coming to the XBOX 360 in March.

Are there any questions answered at the end SO2? Every time I beat it, I ge tthe same endings. Do I need different characters for different endings?

Also, I know at the end, Claude has to go somewhere for a while and left Rena behind until he got back. Any answers on where he goes or what happens between them?

SO2 left a lot of questions unanswered for me, and it drives me insane. The best game (RPG, at any rate) ever made, and it leaves questions open o.0

The game has over 80 endings and yes, they do vary depending on who you recruit. Have you played the game through as both Claude and Rena? You won't get the full story unless you do. Private actions and a few of the side quests also help to fill the story out some too (there's one quest on Nede that gives you access to the classified files in the North CIty library, letting you find out the origins of the Ten Wise Men).
