The title says it all. I'm planing on starting a Gameboy collection but I'm not that familiar with the handheld. What games should I get? I like Platformers, Shmups, Puzzles and Classics. Anything else I should know about just say it.

Well the obvious ones really are Mario 1 & 2, the wario land series and donkey kong land games there all excellent platformers, theres also Bomberman which is also a platformer and the pokemon games (:)) The is a good japanese RPG called Kaeru no Tame ni Kane ha Naru which is similar to the zelda gameboy game as it was made by the same developers, that does feature some platformer levels but its more RPG though if you dont speak japanese it might be quite difficult

Kirby's Dreamland 1 & 2, Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow versions, Tetris, Metroid 2 and Mega Man 1-5 (I think that's how many there were) are all good games that haven't been mentioned thus far. Also, be sure to pick up a GameBoy Camera and Printer, as they were pretty darn cool for their time.

I highyl, highly recommend Bionic Commando. The game had very nice graphics for the handheld and the soundtrack was fantastic and memorable. And to top it off, the gameplay was solid. So it's a great game to play and a must in any respectable Gameboy collection.

I also just as equally recommend Ninja Gaiden Shadow. Pretty much for the above reasons, it's just a solid game that is actually something you can complete, it's not mind-numbingly difficult and that is a good thing. Really great music that sticks in your head for some time too.

Legend of Zelda Links Awakening is a great action adventure. if you like rpgs, just get a pokemon game. there's plenty of them to choose from.

I would suggest:

- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
- Metroid II: the return of Samus
- Tetris (obviously)
- Mario Land & Wario Land games
- Pokémon games

Golden Sun series for the GBA is also very good. The series has 2 games and they are both great. Those are RPG games with a very good story, amazing graphics for the GBA and good puzzles.

I second that. I own both games but I've only played some of the first one and I love it. Great graphics especially the summons.
