Well I guess you could always, oh I don't know, just not buy those things. I mean it's not like you can't just buy a regular edition copy of Halo 3 or the 'plain jane' 360. I don't know why people get so worked up over these things since it really doesn't affect them in the least.

Anyway Halo Wars looks awesome and I'd actually probably really dig a Halo kart racing style game myself.

I would have to disagree. Why wouldn't you "milk" a game that has earned you millions of dollars. Each halo game earns more and more profits than the previous one, and for that reason, they decide to continue making them...

I agree with that,plus...milking???Look at Nintendo and what they did with Mario and Link who once stood for High-Quality-Games.The Games are not even near the level the once where.Or Capcom...I just say Street Fighter 2....

I´m not really a Fan of Halo and whould give it maximum 8.5,but Halo Wars seems like a not bad idea since it´s made by a Company who already made some said-to-be-good games (never played them myself)

The games themselves are spread apart and not really milking anything, but the press conference was a little nauseating in its reverance of all things Halo. The corny band playing the theme music, the live action short, introducing a Halo themed 360, comparing it to the Star Wars trilogy.. we get it. Microsofts most important IP is Halo. But it's not their only IP, and not everyone who owns a 360 is just waiting for it to become their Halo machine.

They will milk halo as much as they want, as long as 8 year olds keep buying it. I bet they can release a Master Dumbass costume for halloween that cost $200 and the kids would still buy (or the parents) it.

You missed out sooo much...it´s unbeliveable....there are so many games most people don´t know.Mariofor the CD-I,Mario Land,the Wario Games (Spin-offs of MLand 2),Mario and Donkey Kong,...Mario is Missig (yeah.was AWFUL),several learning games....I think Mario is the most milked franchise ever...and the last really good game which was based on the original gameplay was Super Mario World,in part 2 you played Yoshis (but it was a really awesome game)...Mario 64 was nice but not really good the day it came out and Mario Sunshine was a sad joke thanks to the camera.

I don't care about the marketing question from the OP, rather his statement pertaining to Halo's quality. This goes for everyone else who has echoed his statement in this thread: Did you guys even play Halo? Not going to mention Halo 2 because if you played that one but not the original, you're just plain stupid. But yea, did you? Halo stands as one of the greatest games ever made based entirely on it's single player and the time of it's release. No serious gamer can possibly challenge me on that. You can try, but you'd identify yourself as having an ignorance level on par with that of someone who doesn't even know Half-Life 2 exists so don't do it.

Yup Sony doesnt milk anything *cough* Final Fantasy *cough*Before I get flamed I know FF started on Nintendo and is made by a third party dev. but they all are ending up on Sony consoles and thats what I call milking.

All of these games have produced tons of more games than Halo. Complain about any one of them, Bungie has released or announced only 4 Halo games.
