Hello everyone. It's 5:30am, I can't sleep, and despite searching through my entire catalogue of games and what seems like every single game on Steam I still can't find anything I want to play. In fact the older I get the less motivation I have to play anything. I don't know if this is a reflection on modern games or something else but it's definitely a problem for me - I used to love getting home from work and just relaxing with a good game for a few hours. I think my main problem is that I play games primarily for their storylines and not the fun or exciting gameplay - I don't find running around shooting people entertaining if there is no purpose to it, which is why I rarely, if ever, touch online multiplayer. I'm not downing those sorts of games or the people that play them, I'm just saying that it's not the sort of thing that I personally find entertaining. In all seriousness, I could play a horribly designed mess of a game if it had an engaging story, I play primarily to find out what happens next. So I have decided to turn to the good people of the internet in my hour of need; please recommend any and all story/character driven games that you have found memorable purely for those reasons. I'll put up a list of the ones I've played to help: KOTOR 1 & 2 Baldur's Gate series Planescape: Torment Fallout 1, 2, 3 and NV Mass Effect 1 & 2 Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Morrowind Silent Hill series Dragon Age: Origins Final Fantasy series (I haven't really touched jrpg's apart from ff) I'm sure there are many more I've left off of my list but it's late and difficult to think. It at least gives you an idea of the type of game I enjoy. Thanks for any and all suggestions folks!
