Stuck in FFVIII?

I just got past the part where the team falls asleep on the train to Timber (for my 1st SeeD mission), got control of the new charcters, and got to the city... I went to the hotel, accidently got a hotel thing for 2 nights, I come out and theres a traffic jam and I can't go anywhere :( I checked some guides and none tell me what to do. Can anyone help?

I've been playing this game for years and have played to completion many times and I have never seen or heard about this happening.

Umm I got into the city with the Galbadia soldier people, and went to the Hotel, it offered to rest for 100 Gil I aaccidently rested twice, when I left the hotel there was a traffic jam and I can't really go anywhere all the exits are blocked except to the hotel....

You're playing with Laguna right? Try going to the right of the hotel clerk. There is a place over there with a piano and some people sitting in a dining area. See if that triggers an event.0diN_7

I'm not sure what's going on here. Hopefully it's not a glitch. Like I said I just can't seem to remember anyhting like this happening. If that doesn't work then talk to the desk clerk again and tell me what options she gives you to choose from. Also, if my memory serves me correctly there are two ways out of that street which are on the east and west sides of the screen.

I'm sure that video will help you if you watch it but just one more thing. I looked it up on youtube as well. Have you talked to the hostess in the dining area? If not that should progress some things.

I went to the stairs and I couldn't go down....

So you can't go down the stairs or leave that street? Then that means the only palce you can go is the hotel lobby to talk to the desk clerk to buy a room. That's not right. Something is wrong here. Can you tell me the last major event that happened. Sorry, I just want to get to the bottom of this.0diN_7

Sorry I was trying to make it work, I ran up and down the side just to see if I had bad depth perception and that was to no prevail too : / I guess I just start from my last save 2 hours back or so : /

See, this is why everybody is going to tell you to save every chance you get. The point is to avoid stuff like this (in addition to losing random battles). So unless you have a save from just before now, you're screwed.tjoeb123

I saved every chance on my main save.... but I saved after I got out, and my secondary save I do every once and awhile :(

I never heard of FF8 glitching out like this before. You can go into the hotel right? Have you sat down on the chairs to the right of the woman playing the piano? Then a scene will trigger and then the woman playing the piano should come over to you then invite you upstairs to her room. Thats when you'll be able to go up the stairs.

No, I can't get DOWN I'm not trying to come back up, I watched the video the other guy posted and I'm stuck at those stairs, I try to walk down but I end up hitting a wall....

Note to TC : have multiple saves for RPGs. Make sure you space them out properly too.
