Im playing Metroid Fusion right now, ive done quite a bit of it and its a lot of fun, a gripping adventure so far. I tried getting into Super Metroid, got about an hour or two into it and found it quite boring.

Offcourse its regarded the second coming along with many other SNES games, but are the GBA games simply superior?

Fusion is more action packed but super metroid is the king of the 2-d metroids for me.Its way bigger, has more stuff to do and has a nice balance of action, adventure, exploration and just wonder for me.

Metroid Fusion is more action packed and straight forward, much more linear. Super Metroid is much slower and focused much more on exploration. I much prefer Super Metroid.

Super Metroid is a game for when you've booked time for yourself in advance, so you've got many hours to get lost in it.

I own both. I have to say Super Metroid is the best. Fusion was great but It was linear and those stupid SA-X in-counters where you have to freeze it and run, freeze it, run, etc. Why you don't like Super Metroid is beyond me.

Super Metroid is my favorite Metroid followed by Metroid Prime.

Fusion is a great game also.

Super Metroid is king, but Fusion was unique. I liked the ecological space station. Metroid Zero Mission is overrated and frusterating, especially if you want all the items. Fusion is much better than Zero Mission.

The problem with Super Metroid for those of us who played the GBA games first, is that the controls feel slow and clumsy after experiencing the tight GBA controls. That's the reason I couldn't get into Super Metroid.

Fusion is a great game, and I have played through it several times, but I just couldn't stand its constricting linearity. There are no sequence breaks or items skips at all,and no possible way to deviate from the path the computer constantly gives you.I very much prefer Super Metroid; at the lack of a better expression,it's pure Metroid.

But theres a level of urgency as well as intensity to the game. Theres also the great graphics which boost the atmosphere. Again ill give Super another try, and as the poster above you said, its aged a little bit in terms of control.

SgtStrungOut

You just suck at the old Metroid games. The controls are just fine. THEY PLAY EXACTLY ALIKE. I can't believe your excuse is that you suck with the old controls. That is a insult to your skill, not the game. Super Metroid is a classic and way superior to Fusion. Fusion is awesome, but it is no Super Metroid.

oh no, someone doesn't like a game whathever shall we do?

Super Metroid, without a doubt for me. Don't get me wrong, Metroid: Fusion is probably my 2nd favorite entry, great game. But Super Metroid is the cream of the crop, the Super Mario World or Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past of it's series. I loved the hell out of it. But that could also have to do with playing Super Metroid in 1993 and Metroid: Fusion a decade later. So my own initial wow-factor and discovery happened with Super Metroid.

Fusion beats Super in action, but Super is longer and there's more to do.

honestly, I don't personally think "METROID FUSHION" was half as good as "METROID ZERO MISSION".

SUPER METROID is drastically better than both, but between the two GBA Metroids, Zero Mission is the way to go.

"Super Metroid" (SNES) is, in my opinion, one ofthe best video games ever made so it gets my vote. "Metroid Fusion" is a great game too.

Fusion for sure. Super Metriod is not as varied and action-packed as Fusion is imo. Fusion is the best Metroid game in my opinion.

Super Metroid is the better game overall, but Fusion has better controls and bosses.
