As the years have gone on, there have been no Superman games released that are actually good. Superman Returns was just eh, it didn't even make you feel like the Man of Steel. We need a Superman game where we have unlimited power, making you feel like the last son of Krypton. Ideas: - Start as a child in Smallville and develop your powers (could possibly be a lengthy tutorial) - Be able to play as Clark Kent when ever you want. - When you play as Kent, you should be able to change in different ways. Like, if you Clark and you want to change into Supes, you should have to find the closest alley way run and rip open his shirt to reveal the S and as he runs his clothes just sort of fall off. If you were Superman however, you should be able to go behind objects and a little option will come for you to change into CK ( like how he goes into a phone booth and instantly walk out as CK/Superman) or the spin where he turns into a mini tornado and changes. - Story line I think should be Lex. After all he is the arch nemesis. Lex could trying to develop a super weapon that we don't know the identity of. Bizarro should be a big part of the story line too. Like, you have to do a mission as Clark (that's another thing) and you turn up at the Daily Planet and notice that (Bizarro) Clark is already there posing as CK. - Doing missions as Clark Kent. You should be able to fly to the top of the DP or go in at the front entrance at the bottom (As Clark, if you flew in at the top then you change back to Clark). Once you are inside, you should be able to go to Perry or Lois or Jimmy and get assignments. - Accessible Fortress of Solitude. On your map there should be a marker named Fortress and if you fly to that marker it will be on the edge of Metropolis. Once you enter it, Superman will turbo boost his flight and arrive at the Fortress in a couple of seconds. The journey could also be a sort obstacle course meaning you have to dodge buildings or planes or whatever. At the Fortress you should be able to select different costumes, view collectibles. Such as all the iconic ones, George Reeves, Chris Reeve, Superman Returns, Golden Age, Henry Cavill, Tom Welling (From the season 11 Smallville comic) The Blur (black trenchcoat) and the red blue blur, Dean Cain and regular comic Superman. Another feature would be to create your own Superman costume but that feature isn't vital (although awesome). - Accessible Cities. Gotham. All I'm saying. Maybe just a few missions where you have to help out Bats or he helps you. Smallville, not a city but still, I think it should be accessible to do missions on the Kent farm or visit friends (as farm-boy Clark, in t-shirt and jeans). Watchtower. You should fly/run to all these destinations the same way you journey to Fortress. Gotham and Smallville wouldn't be obstacle courses as they are closer than the Arctic, Watchtower could be the same as the FoS as it's in space and I think that's a little further away than the north pole. - Destructible Environment. If you've ever played the new Red Faction games then you'll know what I'm talking about. In those games, everything can break apart from the environment like mountains or the ground. But obviously, with a destructible environment after 3 days of playing there won't be any city left. So, if part of a building is destroyed after 5 minutes a group of builders will appear and scaffolding will appear around the building (or rubble of the building) and will take an hour to rebuild so you don't end with just a pile of rubble for a city. - Now the biggest problem with Superman games is that they have to be made for all audiences so they are suitable for kids. This one shouldn't be. Like X-Men Origins Wolverine, the game was rated 18 for its violence. This Superman game should be something like a 16, which gives it the ability for Superman to properly kick ass without parental guidance. Okay back to the storyline. So Lex is developing this super-weapon that we know nothing of and Htrae (Bizarro world) has reached our galaxy (the reason why Bizarro is there). So, most of the missions focus on the Bizarro world and trying to get rid of it. Inbetween these missions, will be the Clark Kent missions where you can either do really basic ones to gain XP and level up Superman to upgrade his powers or you can work on finding out what the super-weapon is (at some point the investigation missions will have to be completed for the sake of the story). After everything you find out that Lex has been working with Zod to create a phantom zone portal to release Doomsday. The weapon is activated shooting out into the sky creating a glowing portal which DD drops out of. After a big fight, DD is down and Supes has the decision to kill him or throw him back into the Phantom zone, knowing that he will inevitably return at some point. If you choose to kill Doomsday the game will end, resulting in Superman becoming a vigilante instead of a hero and adopting a red/black suit instead of red/blue and you can free roam as this vigilante. If you choose to send DD back to the Phantom Zone, you grab him, fly upwards enter the phantom zone. As you fly upward you must keep DD at bay by hitting him regularly. Once you're inside the phantom zone, DD will have been weakened down to human size making it a fair fight with Supes as he has no powers in the PZ. Once he is defeated you jump back through the PZ portal. As the portal is in the sky, Kal is falling at incredible speed, getting faster and faster heading for the LexCorp tower. His wounds heal, signifying he has got his powers back. He lands infront of Lex and Zod (much like he did in Superman Returns when he lands on the manmade kryptonite island Lex made). Superman blasts heat vision out at Zod. Zod dodges then flies up through the PZ portal. Superman acknowledges this but ignores it meaning Zod gets away (opening the door for a sequel). Superman grabs Luthor and makes him disable the portal. Supes punches the control panel grabs the contraption and hurls into space. The decision to become a vigilante also arises here aswell. You can either kill Lex or take him to prison. If you kill him, the same will happen if you kill DD. There. My idea for the next Superman video game. Titled, "Superman".

Sounds like the type of game worthy of the Superman name. Maybe a developer like Rocksteady could do it justice, just like they've done with the 2 Batman Arkham games. As far as older games, I thought Superman Returns was ok, but my favorite have to be the arcade game from 1988 and Death & Return of Superman on SNES.

The problem with superman is that his power make him stronger than most threats.

Wait you mean all these features aren't present in "Superman" for the N64? Kidding! That game caused me to give up on all pixelized versions of the Man of Steel since. I heard a few followups on the PS2 were better but I was so scorned I couldn't even chance it.
