Soo for me i remember fondly playing the russian sniper level in CODMW1 where you shoot the pilot of the helicopter and it comes crashing down and skid to a stop right in front of you which was terrifying at the time! Now i have several special moments from MGS4. The first one memory is when you see raiden fight a dozen Gekko in the street with a sword. " 2nd one is when he fights vamp and the third one is going back to Shadow Moses. Ohh the nostalgia!!!

Soo what are yours?

Good original thread by the way. I've quite a few, but here's a couple; Dead Space 2, the most highly anticipated game for years for me, enjoyed every moment, but some of the set pieces were immense. Taking the escape pod really did float my boat, action packed all the way, no time to catch your breathe, marvelous. The next jumps to the Wii. new Super Mario Bros, the end of the game, spoiler alert, spoiler police back off, I sounded the alarm! When you finally reach Peach, it turns out to be a fake, then a massive BOWSER breaks out & hells let loose! A great end to a quality game. Theres more, but I'll stop waffling.

Bayonetta: Chapter 14 in general. You start the chapter off by riding a rocket, and after that section, a fantastic boss fight occurs. The fights with Jeanne were some of my favorite boss battles in the game. Bayonetta was awesome as a whole, but chapter 14 stood out the most for me.

Persona 4: The cooking contest, field trip and culture festival segments. I found these scenes hilarious; I never laughed this hard from a video-game before.

Valkyria Chronicles: Chapter 7 battle. Everything was going swell in this battle until...
Selvaria came along and wiped out half my squad.
The battle was pretty intense after that, and I was just trying to end the battle as quick as I could.

Vanquish: The train level. Just like Bayonetta, Vanquish had some cool moments, but the train level stood out for me. Basically, you're fighting on a high-speed train, and sometimes the enemy train will take a loop and be upside-down and other crazy things happen. Fun level.

demon's souls had a great tutorial. the whole time i was thinking "this is intense, but its not that hard." then the tutorial boss came along and crushed me and i thought "was i supposed to beat that?" but really, it fit right in with the segments where the game teaches the player how to block, counter, and dodge. it was just another lesson to learn. in this case, the lesson was that i was going to die in this game but that doesnt mean game over.

also, stepping out of the vault in fallout 3 was great. exploration-heavy games with narrow tutorial sections only to suddenly open up into a vast overworld have been done a million times since the dawn of 3D, but fallout 3 was different. the "scenic overlook" sign immediately introduced the game's sardonic tone. also, the quick filter to depict the player character adjusting their eyes reminded me a lot of the opening birth section with the doctor's light. it was like a second birth.

I agree about the start of demons souls. I was on edge while playing the tutorial as i had heard this was one of the hardest games for the PS3. But it turned out to be one of the bets games i've ever played. I also agree about ' stepping out the vault' which was breathtaking. Then you just don't know where to go or what to do untill you stumble accross Megaton with a robot outside and a few dead carcases and you get really excited :)

The first time I entered the Batcave in AA, when he says "on", then the cave lights up and you have to glide down onto the center platform, cape flowing, complimented by perfectly fitting music. Barely ever has a game made me feel like I was the character so well as that part did. It's a moment that still always gets to me everytime I play it because it's so well done.

Deadly Premonition's Story - very original, very surreal. I was waiting for Alan Wake with so much anticipation, that i got DP just so i can pass the time until AW's release faster. Well, AW turned out to be a letdown but Deadly Premonition's story and overall game ended up in my top 3 all time favorites.

Bioshock's Artistic Style - I love US themed entertainment from the 40's, 50's and the 60's -music, movies, games. Bioshock provided me an oustanding experience both artistically and story-wise. Definitely, a special moment for me.

Portal - Its uniqueness and the wonderfully scripted character in CLaDOS made this game one of the most memorable 5 hours i have spent in my life.

Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas - Maybe not so much adhering to the previous titles, but those games are the single reason for: the longest gaming session, obsession with video games, and countless hours of fun and black humor laughter. The happiest hours of my gaming life!

The ending of the Shadow of the Colossus, it was so sad. The whole ending cutscene, in which you get some opportunities to control your character, was very moving, including what happens after the end credits. Being given control at some parts made me feel like I could've changed the outcome, even though there's only one ending. After I beat the game, I said to myself: "That game, was FREAKING AMAZING!"

The final boss fight of Metal Gear Solid 4 is up there as well. I love how the fight went through 4 different phases, each had the theme of a different Metal Gear Solid game.

Metal Gear Solid 2 as well. The ending was very inspiring with Snake's little monologue.

The final boss fight in Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel on the PS2. The music, the FREAKING music! It was SO epic! Just listen:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0iNqOKS9vo

The final boss fight in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 against Pain was also epic. The quick time events were a lot of fun, it was just like watching an anime.

One of my favorite memories of gaming is playing grand theft auto IV online with my friends and doing some of the most ridiculous stuff ever in a videogame. I remember we all got rocket launchers and jumped in an annihilator. One of us would fly in crazy directions while the others would shoot rockets at other people from the back of the helicopter. Another good memory is playing battlefield bad company 2 with the same friends and seeing how quickly we could take over a base together using helicopters, tanks, trucks, and 4-wheelers. Battlefield 3 will be incredible and will allow even more of the crazy fun. When Red Dead Redemption first came out, me and 3 friends went up into the mountains up north on the game map and found a cabin where we could hide from incoming cougar attacks. That was another good memory just because we would have to stay away from the walls because the game would sometimes glitch and the cougars could attack through them. Good times. I love video games.

Stepping out of the Vault in Fallout 3 was an exiting moment for sure.

Dragon Age: Origins is filled with magnificent memories.

Also, the overall perfection found in DQ IX is memorable for sure.

Street Fighter 4 - Playing Cammy, my favorite character! But it drove me nuts that I couldn't pick her from the start, and I hated SF4 overall. Fallout New Vegas - Starting a new Fallout adventure was almost more than I could stand after loving Fallout 3 so much!! Prince of Persia - Trying out the game because of the beautiful cel-shading, and discovering that it was also really fun and clever too. Borderlands - Another cel-shaded beauty, and the 1st game I ever played co-op with friends. Final Fantasy XIV - Creating my character and exploring the beautiful new world of Eorza (after an awesome 6 1/2 years of FFXI) Far Cry 2 - I recently discovered this game, and I'm SO impressed... why didn't I know about this game in 2008?! I'm gonna be all over FC3.

Good thread... Some that come to mind for me:

-Bioshock - When I first entered Rapture, I was blown away. The artistic style, the fantastic writing, the whole experience of Rapture was just plain awesome. Probably why it's in my top 5 fav games of all time.

-Uncharted 2 - The train level... Epic! Damn that was fun, especially when that helicopter came! Another amazing moment was when you first enter that small Tibetan village with Tenzin. Still probably the best graphics I've seen in a game.

-Red Dead Redemption - The whole game was memorable for me, but the standout was the environments themselves. The level of detail was amazing. Just riding through the different towns & down into Mexico was awesome.

-Mass Effect 2 - Again, whole game was awesome, but the few wow moments came when visiting a few of the planets, such as Illium. But the real standout was the Citadel. Amazing detail!

Anyway, these are a few of my most memorable moments for the last few years. There's plenty more but these are the standouts.

I agree with Fallout NV. I spent ages in the building you wake up in! I searched every nook and cranny for things to take. I also agree with Prince Of Persia which nwas really fun but a bit too short if im thinking of the right one. Now i 100% agree with Borderlands as it was bloody amazing!! The atmosphere of the game was right up my street and i loved the way the quests were set out. I finished the game solo before i even went on multiplayer. I got the platinum trophy in the end :) Now i utterly disagree with Farcry 2 which was disappointing, boring and dull. The only good thing about this game was the environment which was expansive. Shame we didn't see any wild animals
