Man everyone always talks about the new games out there and for good reason.New is always fun. However there are those out there that can not afford the new stuff. I mean there is some kid that looks on gamespot, and other video game news media and just whishes to have Fallout 3 or a Playstaion 3 and just can't get one.
So I figured why not make a list of old games that rock and are affordable. Anyone with ideas list them and if your one of the people i'm talking about you should give some real thought to this.I am in that boat this year and look to be in it for a while. These are games that can keep you busy until you get a break or save up enough money without the car or something breaking down on you!
Here is a list and like I said I can't name everything so any help would be great. You can find a lot of this stuff cheap if your lucky.
The Nintendo Entertainment system or the NES for short. You can sometimes find these at your local game trading place for about 40$ to 60$!
Great games for the NES include Mario 1,2 and 3. The Legend Of Zelda 1 and 2. Metroid. Castlevania 1 and 3. I don't really care for part 2. Contra. and there are many more.I added it up at my local game trading place and on amazon and it averages about $110.00 for an NES and about 6-7 games thats a deal! If you look even harder you might even get it cheaper.
The Super Nintendo is also a great choice. The cool games for this console include Super mario world 1 and 2, super metroid, The legend of zelda a link to the past, Flashback, Final Fantasy 2 and 3 if you can get a deal on these two. Both are collectors items but I have found them both for about 15$ bucks each. Super Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat 2. You can get a SNES with about 6-7 games for about $110.00 now also. Like I said it all depends on were you go.
The Sega Genesis games include Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2,3 and sonic and knuckles.Ecco The Dolphin 1 and 2. Flashback, Out Of This World,Super street fighter 2,Phantasy star 2,3 and 4.and still more! I found the Sega to be a little cheaper than the SNES. I found that you can actually get the sega and about 6-7 games for about 80$ bucks if you look in the right places!
The PS 1 is great and has thousands of games out there for it. I even found a copy of Final Fantasy 7 at a local pawn shop for 3.99 and thats no joke! I picked it up obviously.Any ways games for this one include Final Fantasy 7,8,9 chronicles, and anthology.Chrono Cross,Castlevania symphony of the night. Crash The Badicoot 1 and 2.3 wasn't as much fun too me.Myst,Riven and thats just a few for sure on this console. A PS 1 is usually about 20 to 35$ depending on which model. Games for the machine are around 10 to 20 $ a piece. Meaning for around 100$ dollars you could get a PS 1 and 7 to 8 games.
The Nintendo 64 or the N64 has two games that has made it to a lot of top 100 lists. These two are Super Mario 64 and the legend of zelda the ocarina of time.Others include The legend of zelda Majora's mask,Banjo and kazooie,Golden eye, blast corps, jet force gemeni,Donkey Kong 64 and others. The N 64 is more expensive than the ps 1 in most places I have looked. One with an expansion pack is even more. You can get a N 64 with an expansion pack and about 3 to 4 games for about 100$!
Great cheap Games on the PC include The fallout collection,Neverwinter Nights,Baldurs gate 2, Star Craft,Diablo,War craft 3,The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind,The Myst collection,Star Wars Jedi knight and jedi academy too name a few. If you have a PC and just have never tried games on it and if your broke you should give it some serious thought. The PC is just as good as the others I promise.
You can also find the gamecube,PS 2 and the X box with games for a lot cheaper, although they were not as cheap.Like the game cube was about 30 to 40$ but some of the better games on it were kind of high.I did manage 1 with games that I liked at about 120$ witch is still not bad.You can find the PS 2 new for a 130. and this console has some great games. The X box was the most expensive and you could get one with 2 to 3 games for a little over a hundred.
The reason I did not provide links is because like I said you have to look around on the web at your local pawn shops and game stores and you should be able to find some kind of deal that can hold you over untill you finally land that dream console and games your waiting on!
