The best games no one has ever heard of. They are out there. Mocking us. I will start by saying the game I own that the least people have heard of is War of the Monsters (PS2). Superb Game.

There are tons and tons of old games for the NES and even Super Nintendo that are fantastic games that no one has heard about because people don't care to look back at older games. I won't bother making a list because it is too huge. Just know that they are out there.
Passage and Gravitation are both wonderful indie games that almost no one has heard of. They are both free downloads, quite short, and quite unique. Do youself a favor an go try them (make sure to have the audio on when you play).
Most of Sega Saturn games.... there was a lot of good games for the platform, like Panzer Dragon, Panzer Dragon Saga, Dragon Force, Dragon Force II, Guardian Heroes, Mystaria, Shinning Wisdom and Nights (this one is a little more known due to its Wii remake), but most gamers nowadays did not even heard of them.
I still pray for a Dragon Force Remake or sequel.
I'm willing to bet many of you haven't heard of or played this game:
It was a verry good and enjoyable game, that was alot like Zelda.
You forgot Lunar the Silver Star Story. Well I liked that game. It seems no one has mentioned the Broken Sword Series. The very first one was fun.

Phantom Dust, Lunar 1 and 2, and Dragon Force 2 are all really great games. Ogre Battles March of the Black Queen or it's Playstation remake (I guess that just got on the VC though) and Ogre Battles 64. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment probably hasn't been played by many people, much better than the two new ones, first Persona is getting a remake. Culdcept Saga for the PS2 and the one for the 360. Likely people here have heard of most of these or all but average games almost certainly have not.
The younger gamers really need to play Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Bauldurs Gate 2, Fallout 2, and Planescape Torment so they stop giving so much praise to games like Bioshock and Oblivion.
I'd have to say either the Halo or MGS, they are pretty unknown. Too bad, too.....they're great games and should be given the attention they deserve. Let's see......oh yea, Tetris, a fun little puzzle game that unfortunately lives in obscurity. I've also heard of this sci-fi adventure game which I'm not sure ofthe name...I think it was known as Super Metroid, and it was on a Nintendo system a long ways back.
But by far the greatest game no one has ever heard of is Super Mario Bros! You'd think a game like that would define and kick off an entire industry. Go figure.
Guardian Legend for the NES. I still play this game now and then, because its really held up well over the years......
I bet a few reading this thread know it well, but I cant find many people who do....

Wow, I never heard of any of those, though they certainly sound like they would be fun games.
But reading your post reminds me of another obscure series whose name I can't remember. I don't know, I hear it deals with these three triangles and the main character is some elf wearing a skirt. Sounds pretty lame though now that I think about it. :|
Cubivore was awesome, I loved that game.

I was wondering if someone was going to metion this game. The game was not technical marvel graphically, but the weird style and awesome gameplay more than made up for it. It's definitely one of my favorite games on the GameCube.

Oh yea, jeeeeez. How could I forget about that one? It'd qualify if it were only a good game though, so it can't be included here. No wonder no one has ever heard of it before.
Castle Crasherst3hShmoPretty sure people have heard of that one. Wasn't it one of the most downloaded games on the XBLA and all the people that go to Newgrounds.
Earthsiege 2, Kings Quest VII & Fury 3. I could be wrong but I never hear anyone talk about these past games that I found were amazing.
I'd have to say The Longest Journey, Normality and Stonekeep. They're some of the best games I grew up with. TLJ is a great adventure game with a sequel on the 360. The graphics are pretty bad by today's standards, but the story and puzzle/adventure aspects are amazing!
among the recent games, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga.
The most awesome JRPG battle system ever, with plenty of fan service finishing move (bouncy boobies)
This game rocks.
