The thing with the game is that it's basically about a kid that escapes from her mother since she is you because God asked her to. It's pretty dark and bleak but it's also pretty cartoonish and it does have some humor. Although the bosses are pretty disturbing (Vagina-like blobs, aborted fetuses, etc.).
Also, an AO rating? LOLNO There are way worse games out there that are rated M.

 The creators are idiots (no one with two brain cells together would expect Nintendo to approve such a game) or cynics (looking to stir up publicity with a rejection by a high profile company).

Exactly my thoughts, I like their games but this isn't the way to do advertisement, in the end they are blaming Nintendo just to get more sales.

steam had already accepted it and nintendo has allowed worse onto its hardware in the past (they just happened to be from large publishers and adhere to less niche genres). team meat just really likes nintendo and wanted to go through the extra trouble of porting it to their hardware. its more a matter of nintendo being unwilling to be welcome small developers.[QUOTE="CarnageHeart"][QUOTE="KillerJuan77"]

To be fair i wouldn't go anywhere near a game about dead babies either. Probably religion too for that matter, too much hassle.
[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]I love the game, but I'm not surprised it got rejected. It's got a ton of religious overtones, you play a character who attacks with piss and feces and blood and other bodily excretions, there are vagina monsters, dead babies and fetuses in the dungeons, plus lots of little semi-offensive powerups like a coat hanger or used maxi pad. Having said that, I don't necessarily thing it should have been rejected - I think this is an important test of Nintendo's E-Shop as I thought they were going to try and make it a better service than their previous WiiWare/DSiWare stores. They've nailed the download cap part, now it seems they need to work on how they handle more mature content or age filters. I'd imagine keeping the game out of the hands of kids is their biggest concern and they don't really have a good enough system in place to prevent that.bloomberg23Nintendo needs to get over themselves. The world won't end If a few Christians get offended. Manhunt 2 had a scene of a man getting castrated and that still cames out for the wii. Why was that not rejected?
Probably because the ESRB rated Manhunt, Binding of Isaac has no rating. Nintendo probably doesn't want to deal with the mess of an unrated game and angry parents complaining about said game.

I think manhunt 2 had to be censored to get away with a m rating. If it was left like it was made, it would of been rated aosteam had already accepted it and nintendo has allowed worse onto its hardware in the past (they just happened to be from large publishers and adhere to less niche genres). team meat just really likes nintendo and wanted to go through the extra trouble of porting it to their hardware. its more a matter of nintendo being unwilling to be welcome small developers.[QUOTE="LoG-Sacrament"][QUOTE="CarnageHeart"]

which is still a small developer that doesnt have the sway of acclaim or sega.I don't get it, it's just a game about dead babies.. Why do you think Rockstar keeps kids out of GTA? Because violence against in-game children would be outrageous for most people.

which is still a small developer that doesnt have the sway of acclaim or sega.In the end it doesn't matter how much sway a developer has. Nintendo in this case said no thanks. Plenty of developers get rejected daily by companies, yet you don't here anything out of them. All this really is, is a person creating PR for their game.

nintendo doesnt normally reject large publishers. acclaim got to release bmx xxx for the gcn, sega got to release madworld for the wii, and rockstar got to release manhunt 2 for the wii. it was just easier to reject the binding of isaac because the developers are self published, will never have the revenues of the previously named publishers, and it doesnt fit neatly into a popular genre.
this whole publicity angle is sh*t too because the developers arent parading this around like "look at the closed minded fundamentalists" or whatever. theyre still maintaining that they have a good relationship with nintendo.
