Is it me or is this genre dead? I remember how we had amazing platformers like the Prince of Persia series.

Nowadays we have games that are kind of a mix of shooting and platforming like Tomb Raider and Uncharted but these games don't really include platforming for the sake of adding to the gameplay imo. It's just hold ur analog stick in a direction to climb, press jump a few times. They are there just to break the pace of the game and maybe let you enjoy the scenery while you're at it.

They are both splendid games don't get me wrong, but I feel like the platforming in these games is uninspired.

Do you have a Vita or PS4? Get TearAway_ Outside of the Nintendo gang it's the best 3D platformer in years

Also PoP is more like a 3d Slasher with puzzle elements. Assassins Creed is the developers evolution of the SoT PoP trilogy.

They tried rebooting PoP 'twice' last generation, and no one cared to buy them. Really the audience made it clear with their wallets. & they picked Assassins.

I got Ratchet and Clank PS4 preordered.

Bit of a shooter but its roots are old school 3D platforming. :)

@employee427: yeah I know that but they include platforming elements and I think they could've made those better. It's just a means for getting from point A to B which I understand it should be as a game not focused on that platforming but never hurts to improve an aspect which is pretty much 30% of your game.

Euh I wouldn't call those games platformers at all ...

Games like Little big Planet, Super Mario, Tearaway are platformers

@RSM-HQ: I had more fun with the Vita version than the PS4 remaster. But still it is a cool little game

@RSM-HQ: Yes it is a little shorter than the PS4 version, they added many new areas like all the paper plane section and everything you use the controler light to light the game world. I also prefered the Vita version has it felt more concise.
