I'm sold. This game rocks.

@mcguffin: amazing. I'm in love with its interactions with other players. The whole gone rogue thing in the dark zone, how you don't know if the people next to you are there just to extract their loot or steal yours, everything about it. Love the damn game!
@sheriff514:
It's worked out great for me. I walked into the dark zone and saw two guys running around. I followed them to an extraction point and covered them while they extracted their loot. After that they added me to their team and we ran around killing high level AI enemies and rogue agents. After a while our group grew to about 6 people and we all got atom of loot. It was a blast.
@mcguffin: lol yeah, similar situation for me. I was about 15 min uses into the dark zone just wandering aimlessly. I came upon an AI and killed him along with two other players (who I didn't even realise were there) I walked up to one of them and said what's up and to my surprise they both talked! ( prior to this point I never heard another humans voice on the game yet) they added me to their team, we picked up one more player along the way and it was all mayhem from there. Killing rogue agents, becoming rogue agents, killing high leveled (gold bar) AI in a 3 story building for loot. We actually got into a classic Mexican stand off (which might not ever happen again, man I wish I filmed it) we were at an intersection and we came across what seemed like was just one player so I saluted the player just to let them know we weren't going to kill them and to our surprise 3 of their buddies hopped over barricades and cars to greet me and my 3 people at the interesction. Well, someone on one of the fire teams aimed their guns at the opposing fire team which caused a good ol fashioned Mexican stand off with both fire teams yelling at eachother and to everyone's surprise both teams walked away without a shot fired.. man it was hilarious
I'll wait for a month after the game releases. If it turns out to be Destiny 2.0, I'm not bloody getting it
It's Ubisoft. They haven't got the best track record when it comes to games so I'm highly sceptical. I've even in another thread when someone asked if they should pre-order The Division, said that one probably shouldn't pre-order nowadays.
Nevertheless some Friends and I decided to do it, to purchase it on Steam so to get access to the Beta. See how potentially badly it was and simply get a refund after a hour or two. Wasn't much skin off my teeth as my brothers christmas gift had been around 100 bucks cause he couldn't be bothered buying me a game I might already own.
So here I am, Having played the Beta with friends and while I'll admit there were a couple of bugs and we are a little sceptical of what the end game part of the game will be, if there's even going to be any. I must admit that we found it fun and I haven't asked for a refund nor do I think I will, Unless the game somehow is utterly broken upon launch which would frankly be quite impressive at this point.
Guess what I'm saying is, Touchè Ubisoft.
Playing it right now and I'm pretty impressed. Looks very good and the gameplay feels pretty solid. I'm getting strong Mass Effect vibes in the feeling of the gameplay which is a very good thing to me.
I played the PC version and have completed all content. Beautiful game, very polished and good feel to everything. I actually don't mind the bullet sponge enemies. The game is fun, but I hope there are more interesting missions and variety in the full game. The Dark Zone is pretty useless. All you do is run around and kill a few pockets of AI enemies and hope for some loot drops. Then you extract the loot to be decontaminated. During that period players can turn on each other and go rogue and have a target on their back. They are then hunted by other players. This gets boring fairly quickly. The game needs more variety and team based competitive modes. I got the same feeling after playing the beta as I did with Destiny. No desire to keep playing once all content is completed. I don't care about loot and I certainly don't want to grind for anything. I want to be engaged when I am playing the game. I don't know how much more the full game will offer to keep me engaged.
There needs to be more benefits for going rouge. You can steal other players loot, but then you're stuck with a free kill timer that won't go away for quite awhile. You can't defend yourself during that time, it will only make the timer longer and the penalty worse.
I actually found an exploit to being rogue. Just kill someone close to the edge of the beta boundary and then run away into the red zone for 10 seconds and it will teleport you into the safe-house where the remainder of your rogue timer will run out. You will be rewarded with 200 dark zone credits for successfully escaping and whatever loot you stole. You can troll people in the game endlessly with this exploit. It is sad.
Ok, so for those of you who have played the beta, seems like the general consensus is that it is fun, are we talking about that dark-zone mutiplayer stuff, or like some sort of co-op main-game kind of thing? Is it like Borderlands, Destiny or has anyone enjoyed it alone/single-player?? Thanks, just trying to figure out if this game is for me.
@jasonredemption:
The single player campaign was fun enough. The game mechanics are well done and the world is crafted in such a way that is interesting and immersive. The dark zone can be really great or really shot depending on what server you happen to be on. For example, some high level players in the dark zone in a group of about 10 people decided to go rogue and camp outside a dark zone entrance with guys watching the entrance and others fighting against rogue hunters. This made the game impossible to play because they just kept healing eachother and they were too high level to fight against. Also, accidentally going rogue is far too easy. Especially when you and like 10 other people are trying to extract loot and rogue agents ambush you; you'll be trying to kill a rogue and someone will walk into your line of fire and if you hit them, well then you're rogue too. And that part sucked. So hopefully ubisoft fixes these issues by launch.
I honestly don't see what the appeal is. The gameplay is mediocre at best, the menu system is overly complicated, visually it's pretty bland, and there are times where it seems like there is to much stuff on the screen at once. It reminds me a lot of Destiny and the best part of Destiny was how well it played and this doesn't play nearly as well as Destiny. Plus, Destiny got boring pretty quick because Bungie couldn't support it with enough content and if Bungie couldn't supply enough content for a game like this than Ubisoft definitely won't be able to. It seems like this game will do well for the same reason Destiny did well, it's a mediocre game released at a time when there just isn't much else to play.
