I've had 2 years of fun with it, but I spent more time with nearly every bf before apart from bf hardline which was worse than bf5 imo.

Battlefield is a good series, it's just played out. They need to retire it or I don't know turn it into a free-to-play model and just keep it going like that for a decade or so.

WWI was a neat era to visit, but frankly the whole genre of modern/WWII shooter is stale as hell. I'm only playing COD MW because it's crossplay and I can play with my friends; if not for that, I wouldn't touch it.

Hope the next Battlefield is a sequel to BF 2142.

Battlefield hasn't been BF since 2142 I really wish the series would go back to it's roots and play like the old games that are slower pace without regen health, grenade indicators ect.. Basically just give me Battlefield 2 gameplay that's when the series peaked and it never has been topped.

Since I found Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose, BF has not been touched. There series just lacks something to make it addictive for me now.

They removed everything that made Battlefield unique to chase the CoD crowd, so now CoD and a billion other series started to poach the BF playerbase, leaving BFV with next to nothing. The anemic support the game got (and the few updates it got made the game worse) meant that the tiny playerbase it had just kept leaving, so they felt they had to abandon it.

@netracing: yea since I discovered HLL my desire to play BFV has greatly diminished.

BFV does some things well, looks great, fun gunplay, got rid of community splitting premium.

However its brought down by some big problems like lack of team balancing (servers with 32 players on one team and 12 on the other arent uncommon) and lack of effective anti cheat.

Funny how the best anti cheat for pc gaming is still community run servers with admins who quickly ban cheaters.

Ive had some great times playing in a squad with friends but overall Dice made a mess of the launch and updates (with the exception of the pacific expansion.

Hopefully they learn from their mistakes for BF6 but im not optimistic.

Last one I bought was BF4, it was good. First one to bring in the COD crowd. Haven't touched the series since.

Battlefield 2 was peak, sunk hours into that. Still hoping they remake it. Battlefield 1 was cool and was annoyed when 5 came out and everyone migrated, but understood why.
